The nice thing is that they are both standalones so you don't need to commit to reading a whole new series.

Have only read the first 100 pages or so but I feel that it's going to be a very enjoyable read.

Monica Davis I've opened the cover, I've closed the cover...and repeated, several times! C'mon November! I picked up my library copy of The Chronicles of Master Li and Number Ten Ox which contains the book chosen as our November group read Bridge of Birds. (Okay, I've peeked at the first part, but I'm trying to wait for the group.) In the meantime I'm re-reading a non-related classic: Ivanhoe.

I know what you mean Monica. I'm kind of excited about about starting this one. I'm trying to finish several books so I can start this one.

Finished A Night in the Lonesome October. Rated it 4-stars. This is a great "Halloween" book. It is written like it's a daily journal for the month of October and the main character is a dog named Snuff. Apparently, every Halloween when there's a full moon we have a small battle for the existence of civilisation as we know it. The book is really entertaining and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Halloween.

That looks good...added it to my reading list.
