So far, I'm not too impressed (I'm about 25% through it). This is sort of like an R-rated version of Twilight. Everyone but me liked Twilight, though, so maybe this is a good book. I do like the scientific angle. Also, there's some great corny dialogue: "Marry me whore!" Ha Ha
It is a bit cheesy. Some of the sex isn't really needed to advance the story. Some is, to show how Miriam can attract humans to her so that she can turn them into vampires and be her companions.What I liked about the book was the backstory of Miriam's life through the centuries she has been alive. I also liked the science parts as Miriam's blood, brainwaves, biology, etc. is being studied later in the book.
The parts I didn't care for were those showing Sarah and Tom's relationship. I thought Tom was an ass, and didn't see what Sarah liked about him.

I have about 100 pages left. So far I only like Sarah, but have doubts about her relationship smarts. Also, the science stuff is fun.
