Does that mean you did not get my message, Dan?

Emma Jaye | 3693 comments Bum. added the wrong link in the data base, by all means go from the links in the sign up message. I'll change the Buri's to Gillis's

Dan Gillis | 59 comments No sweat Emma. We appreciate all you do!

message 57: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3693 comments Purchase is NOT required, but of course I can't stop anyone buying a book. The 'free copy' guidelines are just to stop anyone feeling pressurised to spend money to join a group.
I have KU too, personally I think it's an essential expense for authors. We all need to keep up to date with what is going on with our genre. And the work of others, , the good, the bad and the ugly, assessing what works and what doesn't, is an essential way to hone your own craft.

Ah, no worries, thanks for trying - I'll keep an eye peeled for the next group. Have fun reading, all!

E.M. Swift-Hook | 3487 comments My first review is here for my second round book: 'Ghostmaker' by Eric Michael Craig.

I have only managed to be so quick because it really is just a very short book, sadly the only one I could review of Eric's in this round. Besides, I have a reputation to keep up with Warren for being the fastest reader in the group ;)

Pleasure, Eric, although it is Emma who does the heavy lifting. I just have to stop E.M. from doing all of the reviews herself!

message 68: by E.M. (new)

E.M. Swift-Hook | 3487 comments Warren wrote: "I just have to stop E.M. from doing all of the reviews herself! "

Vile calumny! There are still 4 people in the group who can review me un-reciprocally - OK so one has reviewed me before, but still... ;)

Matt Parker | 20 comments Oh poops!
I went away for the weekend, and it looks like I missed the sign-up :(

Shhhh! Don't tell Warren ;)

Melonie wrote: "Yeesh! I want to be like you when I grow up."

I did get a head start with the first book being a real short as I have already reviewed the other two by that author.

I suspect it'll be a bit longer for the next two as I have some writing I really, really gotts to get done....

message 78: by Warren (new)

Warren Dean | 321 comments I'm thinking that it is time to introduce a handicap system for reviewers who post well in advance of the deadline!

After the first offence, the reviewer has to read the next book with one eye closed.

After the second offence, future reviews must be typed with one finger.

After the third offence...!

(Leo, feel free to jump in any time!)

message 79: by Melonie (new)

Melonie Purcell | 69 comments I'm not Leo, but how about the reviewer has to provide a dramatic reading of her/his review in Klingon while eating marshmallows.

E.M. Swift-Hook | 3487 comments ..and just as I am practicing typing single-fingered, with one eye closed whilst reading out in Klingon with a mouth full of marshmallow - on youtube (did I miss anything there ;) ?) - could I also put an offer out....

If anyone I have reviewed would like any further thoughts on their writing from me, whilst it is still fresh in my mind (typos, inconsistencies etc.), or would like me to post my reviews somewhere else to help with publicity, please shoot me a PM :)
