Did not have read it in high school, but read it later in life thought it was a very disturbing and thought provoking book a glimpse of a possible future. A future man is not far from facing right now.

The drawback of reading anything with my daughter that is for school is that they have a time table and homework to complete. Which means less time for me to sit and chew on the information.
You are right, it is thought provoking. I do not wish to believe there will be a time when we will as a society give up our right to read and think for ourselves, but... it is happening to some degree. We watch the news, accept the facts as they are presented (at least with a good amount of what is presented) and we go on with our lives.
I can't say I loved the book. I gave it 3 stars for the time being. But I always reserve the right to re-read and re-evaluate material once I've had time to think on it for a while.
Hey all - Check it - I'm celebrating 1 year of my book's release with a GoodReads giveaway. Feel free to enter - pass it on to whomever likes a hardcore Coming of Age novel with some (A LOT) of dialogue... Yes, it's been called wordy by some reviews as of late... I think they're great words!!! But...

What I'm reading at work:
What I'm reading with my daughter:
What I'm reading/listening to during commute time:
What I'm reading before bed:
LOL It's been a busy week.
Currently reading Dracula, Uprooted by Naomi Novik, The Waves by Virginia Woolf, and Reflected in You by Sylvia Day. So that's 4? There may be a 5th I'm forgetting.
I've been putting this one off, but I am currently reading Bazaar of Bad Dreams by Stephen King and True Crime Stories Volume 5: 12 Shocking True Crime Murder Cases (True Crime Anthology)by Jack Rosewood. Also a YA book The Alien Club by Trel W. Sidoruk. Never happy reading just one book at a time.
Hey folks, I just finished "One Flew Over the Cookoo's Nest." Now I am in desperate need of something light hearted and lilting. Something in the line of "The Princess Diaries" would do. Any suggestions?
Try reading A Street Cat named Bob, it's not light hearted but it is a good read and it will make you smile in the end... I want a cat like Bob.

At least I can make someone smile, Although it isn't my normal type of book to read I did seem to go through it real quick couldn't seem to put it down. You were right about the Black Dahlia it was a real let down. Didn't even do a good job of building the story around the true crime.

wow I am behind. I've read
Now I'm currently reading
and
Books I've tried to read but ended in disappointment and had to quit
I'm currently reading Heir of Fire, I know this series has got quite a bit of criticism from the earlier books but I am very glad that I stuck with it. I've also just started Carrie because it's almost Halloween so I've got to get in the spooky reads!
I am currently reading:
: buddy read of the entire Shadowhunter Chronicles with a couple of GRs friends over at the Bookish Kingdom group - the change of scene from TMI is interesting and Jem is 450% a gorgeous cinnamon roll. Doing this as an audio.
: this is for a challenge I gave myself to read 2 classics a month Jan-April, this is my second classic and a reread (I couldn't remember whether I had read this previously, shame on me). I seriously adore this classic dystopian-type of book. I'm also doing this one as an audio.
: I'm loving this book and the characters but it's taking me so long to read - I don't know why this is so slow for me.
: Reading the ARC, book is to be published end of the month. I am actually loving this so far - I understand why people are comparing it to The Hunger Games but it's so much more than that. Next up is
Yes! There is something so spot on about the classic dystopia in Fahrenheit that I absolutely cherish.
I think in this book what is so good about it is not only is there a disregard for life, but there is a disdain/fear of books and how they might incite revolt or at the very least understanding about the manipulation of man and mans subjugation of his fellow man.
I haven't read Fahrenheit 451 yet, but it's been on my tbr for a while. I also have the Haze Wood and Scythe on my tbr!
I'm currently read The Rose & the Dagger by Renee Ahdieh. It's the sequel to The Wrath and the Dawn, and I'm absolutely in love with it! I'm also reading Magonia by Maria Headley, which I have been struggling to finish for months. Hopefully it picks up and I will finish it soon!

What do you think of it? :D

Hi Bibliogothica and Nikita!
@Nikita What did you think of Renegades and The Tiger Curse? I've been wanting to read both of those quite a bit! :)

Renegades is awesome! I love it so much. I love all of Marissa Meyer books. She's is amazing. I'm actually re-reading The Tiger Curse books because the final book is coming out in march. I love the series. It's good. Both are worth reading.

Ooh, good to know! Both have been on my tbr, but I haven't had a chance to pick up either one. I'm glad you enjoyed them both a lot!

I am currently reading Beyond the Sea of Ice, and the Dark Tower series. Just Finished Wizard and Glass and am going to be starting The Wind through the Keyhole. Also reading the Divergent series. Just finished Insurgent and Allegiant is next.
Good question, a bit so so in my book but as an old man it would be. It is YA Dystopian love story-ish. Still two books to read and I won't make a final decision until I finish the series. I am a gluten for punishment I can't leave a series half read.
When I read the trilogy, I found the first book to be a little cliche and unmemorable, the second to be annoying, and the third to be horrendous. I hope you enjoy the series more than I did! Haha.
I am currently reading the third book in the Belgariad series:
I am thoroughly enjoying the series so far!
Nikita wrote: "I didn't like it. I only read it because my step-dad loves the series and has been trying to get me to read it for years. But I couldn't get into the story it was just boring."Oh... well I suppose it's not everyone's cup of tea. :p
Has anyone read The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern? :B
Or the Iron Fey Chronicles by Julie Kagawa? :D
mrbooks wrote: "I am currently reading Beyond the Sea of Ice, and the Dark Tower series. Just Finished Wizard and Glass and am going to be starting The Wind through the Keyhole. What do you think of the Dark Tower? I haven't read it myself yet, but I heard that they're pretty good.
