I want to see the play too and why people don't like it well.......
I liked it but I don't really think of it as one of the books I think its more like a fanfiction

message 15: by Fiona (new)

Fiona Titchenell | 2 comments I'm finally reading Interview with the Vampire. I like to read a classic horror novel every Halloween season. This one probably doesn't qualify as horror, exactly, but I've sort of run out of most of the classic horror on my list (Dracula, Frankenstein, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, The Haunting of Hill House, Call of Cthulu), so I'm branching out a little. Only about fifty pages in, and it's very odd, but I think I'm enjoying it.

I liked HP and the Cursed Child a lot. I get the complaints and don't really see it as fully canon, but still very enjoyable!

I have begun reading the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas, and am on the second novel. The characters are simply marvelous and the plot is highly engaging. I also plan on starting HP and the Cursed Child some time soon, and finishing A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking by the end of this week.

How are you enjoying the Narnia series? I was a fan of the first two novels, but lost interest after the fourth.

I have read the Cursed child I though it wasn't to bad.

message 20: by Sovanratana (new)

Sovanratana (booksandpugs) The cursed child does have a couple of plot holes but I liked it for the humor and plot and characters so I guess I just overlooked the bad stuff haha

Honestly I am more open to it than my daughter is. We were both anxious to get the book, but it has started out in such a way that she is annoyed with it. We aren't very far in, I suspect it is a book I will end up finishing by myself. We read all of the HP books together, but then, she's getting older and less interested in reading with mom. She's 15 now.

I'm enjoying it. I've never read the books before, only seen the films and it's fun to see the difference between the two. It's crazy to discover that much about Voldemort's past.

Jlsimon | 11 comments Did anyone else have to read Fahrenheit 451 Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury in high school? I didn't, but my daughter was assigned to read it. As a result, I am reading it with her. I'm almost done, but it is a strange book. LOL I had dreams about trying to escape a society that is controlled in the same ways, only you are trapped within the town by this incredibly deep trench dug all the way around the town. It is bazaar.
