Fabian {Councillor} (councillor) I have recently watched the stunning movie adaption by Darabont, who adapted it as masterfully as he did with Shawshank and Green Mile - seems like the perfect time to read the novella too. :)

Michael Hebler (mhebler) | 18 comments I read this story back in the late 1980's and loved, loved, loved it. I'm so glad to see that The Mist is this month's selection.

I finished this today and oh my lord! how I do love it. I stated in the audio thread I wanted to be friends with ms. carmedy, or crazy ralph if you prefer, but i no longer want to be her friend. this was the first time I'd read this story and i haven't seen the movie. i really, really liked it. i bought the audio book, skeleton crew, but I'm willing to buy in print too. I'm going to finish listening to the other stories. but this story was so great, it deserves a hug. i hope everyone else likes it too.

Kieron | 2 comments Starting this tonight hopefully. I have the audio version in 3D sound, what that means I don't know. Should start and finish tonight so I will let you know.

Kieron | 2 comments Not what I was expecting at all. Prefer a good narrator over this type of production. I am going to try and get a different audiobook or e-book copy.

Ohhh, congrats on your Kindle! I was so totally against them, then I had a chance to get one for free and I did. I've never turned back. Now I have three of them!!

Hmm, I've never heard of 3D sound.

Is it like a "Full Cast Performance?" I've listened to a few of those before and enjoyed them.

Kieron | 2 comments It was a bit like listening to a film without the pictures, if you know what I mean. Different actors with a few sound effects thrown in. Not sure 3D is the correct description. Watched the film the other night it was decent.

Oh, okay. I listened to the Audible of Joe Hill's Locke & Key, and it was like that-with the sound effects and everything.

I liked the film, but WOW, the end was completely different from the book. (I like them both, but I might like the ending of the movie just a tad more.)

I don't have KU, so I didn't know that. But yeah, I read a LOT more now with Kindle than I ever have before.
