♫ Foreman Lanelle - a ghostly song for October

An old cowboy went riding out one dark and windy day
Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way
When all at once a mighty herd of red eyed cows he saw
A-plowing through the ragged sky and up the cloudy draw
Their brands were still on fire and their hooves were made of steel
Their horns were black and shiny and their hot breath he could feel
A bolt of fear went through him as they thundered through the sky
For he saw the riders coming hard and he heard their mournful cry
Their faces gaunt, their eyes were blurred, their shirts all soaked with sweat
He's riding hard to catch that herd, but he ain't caught 'em yet
'Cause they've got to ride forever on that range up in the sky
On horses snorting fire as they ride on hear their cry
As the riders loped on by him he heard one call his name
If you want to save your soul from hell a-riding on our range
Then cowboy change your ways today or with us you will ride
Trying to catch the devil's herd, across these endless skies

An old cowboy went riding out one dark and windy day
Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way
When all at once a mighty herd of red eyed cows he saw
A-plowing through the ragged sky and up the cloudy draw
Their brands were still on fire and their hooves were made of steel Sineater , because characters in the book get branded.
Their horns were black and shiny and their hot breath he could feel
A bolt of fear went through him as they thundered through the sky -- A Living Nightmare ,because there's a few scenes where the boy rides piggyback on the vampire who is travelling very fast (basically flying)
For he saw the riders coming hard and he heard their mournful cry
Their faces gaunt, their eyes were blurred, their shirts all soaked with sweat -- Afterlife With Archie #1 , because this line reminds me of the zombies in the graphic novel.
He's riding hard to catch that herd, but he ain't caught 'em yet The Church of Dead Girls , because the book is about the town's desperation to catch the bad guy
'Cause they've got to ride forever on that range up in the sky -- Dark Detectives: An Anthology of Supernatural Mysteries , because there is a seven episode saga in this anthology called Seven Stars about the constellation.
On horses snorting fire as they ride on hear their cry
As the riders loped on by him he heard one call his name -- Usher's Passing , because there is a dream scene where Newlan is in a horse carriage and being lead to a place he doesn't want to go
If you want to save your soul from hell a-riding on our range
Then cowboy change your ways today or with us you will ride -- The House Next Door , because the main characters try to convince everyone else to change something or they will perish in the house.
Trying to catch the devil's herd, across these endless skies -- The Monk , because is a scene almost straight from the book!

"(Ghost) Riders in the Sky" is a cowboy-styled country/western song written in 1948 by American songwriter Stan Jones. Members of the Western Writers of America chose it as one of the Top 100 Western songs of all time.
It's amazing how many singers have recorded their version of this song: Burl Ives, Johnny Cash, Bing Crosby, Peggy Lee, Elvis Presley, Sesame Street, Peter, Paul & Mary, Deborah Harry, Christopher Lee (really!?!), The Blues Brothers, and Spiderbait (for the Nicolas cage movie Ghost Rider) and many more.
Here are two of my favorite videos:
Glenn Campbell and Roy Clark guitar duet
Spiderbait's version
