Nori(view spoiler)[the poor little girl has seen more than most grown adults. it's amazing her sister got her out of that bad situation they were in but hopefully this thing in the woods will leave her alone (hide spoiler)]

Nori(view spoiler)[ and all of Silla's worrying about leaving is for naught. Because this creature - this creeper man - already has Nori. He's been there the whole time..... (hide spoiler)]

Gowan(view spoiler)[ and who is this wonderful boy that brings them food? where is he getting it? where is he staying? and why does he keep coming back? (hide spoiler)]

Cath (view spoiler)[is their aunt and, if I understood it right, Pamela is their mother and Cath's sister. So Cath said she'd written and Pamela and asked about them, so I do think she is alive. It's their mother married to their jerk of a father. It sounds like he beats her up. (hide spoiler)]

The woods (view spoiler)[have something VERY frightening in them!!! That "Creeper Man" sounds like Nori had better be VERY careful and not go into the woods. But poor Silla said she'd take the woods over her father so he obviously is horrible! (hide spoiler)]

The way the first book ended freaked me out!!! (view spoiler)[Cath died, right? She went to the attic and never came down and when Silla was 17, either her dad or the Creepy Man "arrived." Ugh! (hide spoiler)]

I love the poetry when it surfaces.
I like the big bold words that you can read separately, if you choose.

I don't have much new to add that you two haven't already mentioned.

Creeper Man (view spoiler)[is so scary. I can't help but to wonder if he's real. Is the scare that Cath put in the girls what makes him real to a young girl, like an "imaginary friend" that so many young people have? I mean, poor Nori has no friends at all, so I'm not sure he's real. (hide spoiler)]

Cath (view spoiler)[is crazy for real. The first mention of her was their (crazy) aunt Cath, so I should have known. I thought she was dead when it said she went to the attic but never came down. How could she be alive and surviving after 3 years up there? (hide spoiler)]

Silla (view spoiler)[poor thing (oops, those were Cath's words too lol). She is REALLY frightened to go in to the forest. I sometimes wonder if Cath didn't make up the Creepy Man story because they made it there safely, Gowan keeps making it safely, and if the girls were too afraid to even TRY to escape then they'd stay with Cath forever. Maybe she wants them there with her because they are Pamela's children, her nieces and she's been alone a long time. (hide spoiler)]

Gowan (view spoiler)[IS nice to the girls but for some reason I don't trust him. I hope I'm wrong. I think he's Creepy Man's son. LOL Just kidding, but I'm not sure about him yet. (hide spoiler)]

The dream (view spoiler)[that Silla had about her dad was pretty bad. She must have lived a horrible life with him! (hide spoiler)]

Gowan (view spoiler)[ I think is really a good guy. I think he's won me over with is apples, continual plea for Silla to leave the manor, and his professing his love for Silla. Plus he stayed there hidden in the library after she demanded he leave just to watch over her still. (hide spoiler)]

Silla (view spoiler)[ is more than disintegrating! The description of her physical features sounds like she's on death's door. If all of the things she's hearing and seeing are real, and if she's really looking like she was described, she's bound to die and simply wither away. So sad what she's doing through. I feel like she must be mentally ill. Her aunt Cath is and it seems to run in her family. (hide spoiler)]

Cath of the beginning (view spoiler)[seems to be the same Cath to me because of the fact that there was also Pamela in the beginning and that is the girls' mother, Cath's sister. So I'm pretty sure she's one in the same. (hide spoiler)]

Nori(view spoiler)[ is in danger! I feel as though she has sold her soul to the devil, only she's going with the Creeper Man. Ugh! (hide spoiler)]

Silla (view spoiler)[ has to be frantic seeing Nori leave with her arms wrapped around Creeper Man's neck, like she loves him. (hide spoiler)]

Cath (view spoiler)[finally came on her demise, right? It at least appears that she vanished. Why did she blame Silla? I didn't get that part. That was a strange sudden "death" she met. (hide spoiler)]

Gowan (view spoiler)[is so in the mix of everything. I feel for him! (hide spoiler)]

Silla (view spoiler)[But I do think this is more simply paranormal and fantasy and not just that Silla is mentally ill. She has tried so hard to keep herself, Nori, and Cath together. It's all coming to a head now.` (hide spoiler)]

Creeper Man (view spoiler)[ is the "protector" that Cath, Anne, and Pamela drummed up? So she must've known all along that he was there for real (hide spoiler)]

I wonder if Gowan committed suicide. He seemed to really stumble when they started talking about it

And that was my one question too was how could they survive without food, so I began to think they had to be ghosts or mentally ill, but since the genre didn't include mental illness I threw that out. Cath (view spoiler)[I wondered when she died with "vines" all around her and she just disappeared. And the "Meat" chapter, I knew that had to be from her rotting body! At least in part. (hide spoiler)]

For a lot of the story it was just really good, but then during other parts (like the middle and later parts) kept me confused until the very end chapters when I began to be pretty sure what was going on.

That couldn't have been though because (view spoiler)[Pammy was Nori and Silla's mother and we knew that from the very beginning of the book. There were times, however, that I also wondered if somehow they were possibly the girls from the beginning but it never made sense that way to me. (hide spoiler)]
