We're reading The Shining by Stephen King in October, just in time for Halloween!

Austin D | 4 comments Yay! Very excited! Although I'm not a huge fan of Stephen King, I've been meaning to read this book for about 15+ years. This'll be a perfect time (and befitting month) to finally get to it!

message 3: by Robert (new)

Robert I've never read a Stephen King so looking forward!

message 4: by Kyriakos (new)

Kyriakos Sorokkou | 3 comments This year I already read 4 Stephen King books (Dolores Claiborne, Misery, Gerald's Game, The Dark Half) and I somehow feel saturated with S. King. But I certainly will think about it. I saw the movie twice and I have to read the book. We'll see. Interesting choice though!

message 5: by Roxie (new)

Roxie (roxiereading) I have always wanted to read this book. I absolutely adored the movie. If I can get my hands on the book by October, I will definitely participate!

message 6: by Louisa (new)

Louisa (louisanicolai) I have reserved this at the library, there are a few people in front of me which means it is likely to take FOREVER to get to my turn so I may be reading this a lot later than everyone else here!

Giorgia (giorgiareadsbooks) | 3 comments Never read Stephen King! Tomorrow I'll go out and get it!
So excited to take part in this! I signed up recently, and I'm still new! :)

Jillian | 1 comments I haven't read the book or seen the movie! Excited to join in on this one.

Austin D | 4 comments I know it's not officially October yet, but has anyone started reading it yet? If so, what are your thoughts?
I ordered the book online, but also downloaded the audiobook from the library while I wait. I don't mind the narrator's voice in the audiobook, except he seems to use the same tone and inflection for all the characters, making it occasionally difficult to know who is actually speaking. I'll be excited for my physical copy to arrive so I can dive in! :)

message 10: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Jolly Vater This was the first Stephen King book I've ever read and it was the first book I read this year! The book was phenomenal, the movie is terrible lol.

Britta Böhler I am skipping this month, sorry... already too much on my plate. Have fun, guys!
