This morning the number of ratings/reviews was (If I recall) 18 ratings/15 reviews. Tonight it is 13/11. I counted and it should still be 18/15 (I realize someone posted a rating twice, strangely), but still not 13/11. What happened???

This happens to my dashboard all the time. I think it has to do with a delay when the servers update, but the reviews and ratings always come back in a day or two.
Wow. Not only did the numbers come back, but instead of 625 to-reads, it's at 1244, and review number is up to 39/33!!! Far more than there are (I think).
Did you recently run a giveaway or promotion? The to-reads seem to go up a few hundred on the first and last days of a giveaway for me. The ratings and reviews usually come in following a promotion. That's a lot of reviews in a short time for you, so great job whatever you did!! :)
Nope. Giveaway was in July, Ann's those adds are accounted for

There's definitely a problem with the system. My numbers have been bouncing all over the place for the past few days.
My ratings, too, have a mind of their own. Sometimes they drop from their highest numbers down a few, stay that way for long enough to make me think people have taken my books off their shelves, & suddenly pop back to where they were. It happens All The Time for me. When I need reassurance, I go over to Amazon. Those numbers stand fast.
My whole page has been sort of glitchy. Half of my reviews and ratings vanished, the numbers on the book's page don't match the numbers on my author dashboard, and just this morning the comments link on each of the reviews is missing on my book's page, so all the readers' comments are gone too. When I sent an email to goodreads asking them to fix it, they said they knew about the issue, but that they didn't have a timeline for fixing it. So yes, it's definitely a system-wide sort of bug. I wonder if it's related to the new homepage somehow--that's about when my problem started, I think.
So sorry for the trouble with this! We've been working hard to resolve this issue and your stats should now be reflecting correctly. Please let me know here if you're still seeing issues and I'll happily take a closer look.
Still seeing issues with number of reviews and number of people on the main count "to read", etc.
Hi Jaclyn,I'm still having issues, too. My author dashboard states I have 70 ratings, it doesn't mention reviews, and my book's page says I have 45 ratings and 27 reviews. However, scrolling down, I only count 25 reviews. At one point, I had nearly 44 reviews, and I don't know if that number was inflated or if some of them were lost. The comments link is still gone, too.

Barbara, Sidney and Harry - I've refreshed your stats and these should now be correct.Sidney - are you still seeing the issue with the comments? This could be a browser issue so you may want to try clearing your cache and cookies to see if this fixes things.

Hey Jaclyn, I'm afraid that my ratings have gone strange again after you fixed the issue (now showing 155 ratings instead of 200) - seems to be a completely random non-corresponding number too! I'd appreciate it if you could have another look. Many thanks.
Harry, I checked a couple things and reset your author stats again.

I've noticed that my ratings now tally with books written by only me, but that they don't include the number of ratings for books where I am co-author or editor. And I see that this applies to other authors too. So is this a new standard for GR ratings (where co-authors/illustrators/editors etc. are not included) or is there just a blip in the system being changed? If it is a new standard way of rating, I can see that removing editors, for instance, may be fair, but it's certainly not fair for co-authors! Can anyone help? :) Thanks.
The pages only refresh now and then. I asked and they updated my page so I could read what had been posted.
My books are now showing as 0 ratings, 0 reviews in the summary on my author page and each book page, even though the individual reviews and ratings are still there on the book page. Can you help? Thanks.
Mine are jumping all over the place as well, and have been for the past couple of weeks. I can refresh the stats for individual books, but then they change again after a day or so.

I'm afraid that my overall ratings have now dropped down from what they should be, once again.I did realise I could refresh stats for individual books myself, so did this a couple of days ago but it hasn't made any difference (although I do see there's also a 'refresh cache' button - but I don't understand what this is for, or if that would help).
Could someone help again please? (Am hoping this isn't going to be an ongoing problem!) Many thanks.
It does seem to be an ongoing problem. I've decided just to ignore my stats from now on :)

Sadly, the top ratings showing are some two star ones whereas a few days ago there were five and four star ones at the top of the pile from some lovely people!
Awk! On one of my books, half the page is missing! I got a new review, but not only can't I see it, I can't see ANY of the stars. Thank goodness the lone written review is still there, because nothing else is. Not only the ratings, but the entire bottom of the page is missing. Help!
Still happening. One of my books is showing an average rating of 6.67. I can live with that :)
Mine have returned to 'normal' - possibly.
I was able to figure out which books were causing the weird numbers, and I refreshed their stats. However, the overall stats are still off.It's more bother than it's worth, though, especially when you have a lot of titles on your dashboard.
Another one of mine has got tipsy now. I'll just sit and wait for it to calm down.

Yes, mine are still up the creek. One Dark Night's rating went up a few days ago to something like 4.3 but it's now gone down to 4.1 but there's no sign of why and the number of reviews and ratings doesn't coincide with the number given at the top of the page, nor with what I can remember. Hide in Time is probably the same. It seems to change every few days.

Now the overall rating numbers for each book appear to be correct; however, when I look at the "community reviews" section, the number of ratings is artificially high, and each of the starred ratings is duplicated (displayed twice).
Anna, I've refreshed your stats for those books and they should now be correct.Please keep in mind that the stats for a book may change frequently, as users can remove or change their ratings and reviews at any time. In addition, the deletion of a user profile will also remove that user's content.
Kayleigh, are you seeing this issue for all of your books, or only certain ones? If it's only a few would you mind linking those here so I can take a closer look?
Hello Jaclyn, I've just followed your suggestion to write to support at GR. I've now opened your post here! Thank you for refreshing my page but when I go to One Dark Night's page it shows Friends' Reviews then Community Reviews then some star ratings, then it has the Community Reviews repeated, then more star ratings.
I haven't looked at the other books' pages today.
Sorry to be a nuisance, but I mentioned this because other people are having problems and I thought I should add my observations, to give a fuller picture.

It only happens with the "default" sorting of reviews. When I change the sorting to "newest", for example, the duplication goes away.
We've become aware of this duplication issue with the stats and are now working towards a fix. I'll keep you updated here and, Anna, you'll probably also receive feedback in response to your support email.Thanks Anna and Kayleigh for your examples - they're very helpful!
I couldn't begin to operate a website as complicated as GR so I'm just thankful for what I've got! But when a 5* review disappears, it does worry me. Might I lose them all...?!!

My overall number of ratings are still not reflecting the true number of ratings.
My ratings and reviews have been glitchy as well, and for awhile now. Currently each book page shows zero ratings and reviews at the top, but when you scroll down they're all there. However, Friend Reviews show up twice.
