Hi James,
This isn't an answer to your main question but with regard to being published through D2D, it might be worth pointing out that you can, and arguably should, publish on Amazon's KDP simultaneously. You're not eligible for KDP Select unless you give them exclusivity for at least a 90 day period but there's nothing to stop you from using the regular (unselect) KDP.
The instructions on the KDP site say you should upload either a Word doc or a html file. If this is the sticking point, you should be aware that their system will also accept mobi files. (My experience has been better with mobi than with Word, as my Word doc was converted from Apple's Pages.) You can convert your epub to mobi very easily using a free programme named Calibre.
So, unless you have any particular objections to Amazon, you should probably be on KDP too, you might pick up some extra sales.

I too am not going to be answering your question as I'm sure the site moderator will as soon as she's able.
However, though the preponderance of authors here are on Amazon, many of us have a constant eye out for opportunities to expand exposure.
We'd be interested in hearing your insider's view of what D2D is all about, your experience with it and why you thought it an advantage over Amazon.
Not, let me emphasize, to justify your decisions but to help increase our awareness of potential opportunities.
Thanx bunches !!

I'm definitely going to be joining Amazon. The main reason I joined D2D initially was that I was very keen to get the book out ASAP. Then, when I saw how easy it was to publish/sell with D2D I went with them. At the time, I looked at Amazon and I thought that there were more formatting requirements required and I couldn't be bothered going over the manuscript again!! D2D would take it in its current form and make it work. That's how it happened ;-)
Now, I have a properly formatted word and epub doc, so I can more easily look at Amazon. And, as has been pointed out, I can run with D2D and Amazon (not Select) at the same time.
I had better run coz I gotta go to work! One book doesn't cover my 4 kids' rumbling stomachs!!

Group rules state that reviews have to be posted to goodreads, amazon.com and amazon.uk. If your book isn't on amazon, the reviewer won't be able to post there, but you would have to post your review there.
Members are under no obligation to post to others sites, but a polite request (with the relevant links) to your reviews might entice them to post on other sites if they have accounts on them.
Also remember the new rule from amazon that you need to spend $50 to gain access as a reviewer on amazon.com.
Make sure you can post reviews to the required sites before you join a round.

I don't currently have an Amazon account nor do I plan on spending $50 on books from Amazon specifically anytime soon but I am active on Kobo and would love to have a round for that. Is this possible, mods?
