Abby Tackett (bookloverforeva1999) Um here is what the description says:

IN A HIGH TECH, HIGH-SECURITY WORLD, MAGIC IS THE LAST THING ON ANYONE'S MIND.

Something bad is happening. Trees are dying. People are getting sick. Kelsa's father died. Cancer, a particularly aggressive case, the doctors said. Science offers no answers. Then fifteen-year-old Kelsa meets a boy. He's the most beautiful boy she's ever seen, but he is also very strange. He claims to be Raven, the mythological creature. He keeps going on about magic and an impending ecological disaster and insisting that Kelsa must help him save the world. Maybe he's crazy. Or maybe he's telling the truths people have forgotten. And maybe she should help him, even if doing so means risking her own life.

kynndra-jo (charlietanghoe) Christine wrote: "What kind of books do they write kynndra?"

They write Dystopian series, Christine.

The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness is the first of Patrick Ness's series Chaos Walking. One of my absolute favorites.

The Moon Dwellers (The Dwellers, #1) by David Estes is the first of David Estes series The Dwellers - new and refreshing - this one is a little choppy, but the following books are excellent.

I recommend these authors 100%
