Our October Group Buddy Read is First to Fall

First to Fall-
It took only one day at college for life to throw a wrench in Alyssa's plans. When she walks into the quirky used bookstore just off campus she expects to find a few old paperbacks, not to lose her head over the store's sexy owner - and Kyle is way out of her league, the kind of sex-on-a-stick bad boy who would never give a girl like her a second thought. Or would he? There's nothing Alyssa loves more than a good challenge, and this one promises to be a lot more exciting than running for class president. She just wants to make Kyle notice her, that's all - to see her as a woman. How hard can that be? She'll stop before she gets in over her head. But she can't get those smoldering brown eyes and sinful smile out of her mind, and she keeps imagining his full, soft lips hovering a breath away from her own.
Would kissing him really be so dangerous?
Kyle doesn't do sweet and innocent. He certainly doesn't mess with the kind of college girls who will still be getting carded when they're forty. But one look at Alyssa's smile is enough to shake him, and he can't seem to make himself push her away. It's a mistake and he knows it - he's too old for her, she's not remotely his type, and he's not into relationships - but she's under his skin like no other woman has ever managed before. He knows he can't have her, but maybe he can have just a little taste? He can always stop, any time he wants to, before he gets in too deep with her. What can it hurt? Just one kiss, and then he can stop. Can't he?

I finished this today - finally! I had the hardest time making myself sit down to read a book about girls starting college - I'm so far away from that! Once I got into it, I did enjoy it. It was good but not great for me. Sweet, but not really a HEA and a VERY rushed ending! I might continue with the series, if I need it for a challenge and want something shorter to fit.
I finished this one yesterday. Like Kat, I thought it was sweet. I thought it was cute that she had a crush on the 'older' book store owner, but then things got real, lol. My only issue with the story is a pet peeve of mine, (view spoiler)I'm not sure if I will continue on with the series, but if it fits another challenge.......maybe :)
Oh yeah, I forgot about that Fran - I remember thinking it was weird! So uncommon these days and not cool!
So yes - I didn't even try to read this one since I've been travelling. Sorry to not swell the numbers here :)
I read this right at the beginning of the month, but forgot to come and share my thoughts. I'm much like Kat (big surprise!) in that I had trouble identifying with giggly teenagers off to college for the first time. Once I got into it, it was cute, but nothing special...may or may not read more of the series. Oh, and I agree with the pet peeve, especially considering (view spoiler).
Took me a while to get the book and honestly I stopped and started this book twice- just didn't interest me. Once I finally read it, it was an alright read. Not sure I would continue with the series.
