Sunday Check In - Where are you?

I am in (Saint) Petersburg, Russia, Cornwall, England, and Chicago, Illinois (US) but not all in the same novel.

I started the day in Catalonia, Spain. Then went to Paris, France. Finished up spending some time in the streets of Manhattan. Lots of good food and drink all day : )

I am in Deseronto, Ontario in Janurary 1918. It is so hard to comprehend that it has been 100 years ago since WWI. Only 100 years ago?

On my flight which could be yesterday or today depending how you looked at it since switched time zones at some point I was listening to Wayward which I believe is set in wayward pines. Now I'm trying to think where that is or would be. Was there some mention of Oregon ? Anyone who's read the series know?

Here is the first line from the story summary from book #1, Travis. "Secret service agent Ethan Burke arrives in Wayward Pines, Idaho, with a clear mission: locate and recover two federal agents who went missing in the bucolic town one month earlier. "

I have all three books marked as TBR, but what I want to know is the time frame. Is it in the future, if yes, does it say what year or is it contemporary time?
Where I'm at Cherie it's 2013. I'm not sure about Pines but I'd say just a tad earlier. Maybe 2011-2012. I haven't figured how much time has gone by since the last book started . I think he just set them around the year he was writing them

Truth is Cherie. Upon further review I'm not sure what the mention of 2013 was for. And to reveal the actual time is kind of a spoiler

No spoilers, please. I was only asking because someone was asking for a book set in the 2030 time frame. I thought it was in the future, but not how far in the future.

Thank you, Travis! You are the best. Honestly, I did not ever know the timeline for that one. If I heard it , I never picked up on it.

I'm in the middle of County Wicklow, Ireland trying to solve a murder.
I'm in the middle of County Wicklow, Ireland trying to solve a murder. I am super lucky I visited Wicklow National Park, and a village just like the one described when we were there in August, as I am totally sucked into the location.
That's a bit of luck Rusalka. I like knowing the locations personally in books. It definitly helps to create a better image in your mind. I had visited Prague just before reading Daughter of Smoke & Bone and it really added to my experience.

I'm in Seattle, overly concerned about a dog instead of solving a crime. I'm also about to put another crime on hold in Los Angeles so that I can blast out into space.

I know! 😊 I'm trying to be good, I really am. Honest.
Like Lori, I am in London, but there aren't any vampires or witches to be found. Also, I have been to Olomouc (Olmütz) in the Czech Republic.

I have been lost, high in the desert of Southern Arizona/Mexico, with a group of people, waiting for the fall rains to make our way out and back to Forlorn River. Fantastic western saga, first published in 1913. Zane Grey's Shower of Gold.

I'm splitting my time between Los Angeles, solving a crime, and Toronto where things are getting a bit weird.

I'm in Amsterdam in the year 1686. My new husband has just given me a miniature house as a wedding present and now strange things are afoot.

From digging a well in Ongoren, Turkey, to spending the night with the red-haired woman, I now seem to be moving up in the world visiting museums around Europe. I think I'm fixin' to come crashing down to reality soon...

Still in NYC 1917. Part of the mystery is solved, but it happened to be only the point of an iceberg...

I am in (sounds like) Dejellibaby, on the discworld. It bears a remarkable resemblance to ancient egypt :-)

I was resigned to be IRL today, but I could not go a whole day without reading something, so I am in Spain at the Guggenheim Museum.

Also, I am still into an autistic brain, and the short stories collection I am reading is bringing me around different places.
