I was surprised several years ago after taking a test at work with other supervisors, that I came out to be an introvert! I must say that I was on the low end of that scale and that is one thing that Cain doesn't do much with, the scale of inro- and extroversion. That is a minor thing however as I enjoyed this immensely! In fact, it is my plan to buy a copy for both of my sons, one an introvert and the other an extrovert (but one even more sensitive than the introvert!). My youngest son (the extrovert) doesn't like the introversion in his brother, especially when it seems to be manifesting itself in his oldest son! He simply doesn't understand it and he worries about his introverted son.

I listened to this and it was well-read by the narrator. It can't be easy to narrate a non-fiction, especially something on the scientific side. Since my youngest son is not a big reader but has a long commute, I'll be purchasing the audio for him. My oldest is a big reader and I'm always surprised when our reading crosses paths, I think he'd enjoy this and see himself.

Oh how I wish I'd had this book back when my boys were young. If I did anything right (and they are great guys!) it was by instinct in this regard. I also see it as a wonderful tool for a manager. I was director of our City library and, looking back, I can easily pick out the extroverts and introverts that I supervised. Again, this would have given me wonderful insight at the time but, in looking back, I feel that I was pretty successful playing to their strengths.

Excellent book. I debated giving the book 5 stars but I do reserve that for over the top book love and, since non-fiction is not my usual drug of choice. . . However, I am planning to buy 2 - 3 copies so you judge!

Nicole | 685 comments I picked this up early on this year and had a similar reaction. It was thoroughly engaging and insightful; I was spouting off what I learned from this books for weeks afterwards to anyone who would listen! Amazing book for ALL readers in my opinion.

Jenni Elyse (jenni_elyse) My book club is reading this in January or February. To be honest, I'm not really looking forward to it because I'm as extroverted as they come. Well, maybe not that extroverted. But, I'm dominantly extroverted. But, maybe, it will help me interact with my introverted friends better.

Karin | 9233 comments I heard of this book a few years ago, but have never read it. I will, partly grudgingly since I know that if and when I read it I will wish I'd read it when I first heard about it, add it to my GR tbr.

There is plenty here for extroverts! It isn't purely about introverts because you really can't talk about one without the other. :-)
