The Brain That Changes Itself - Abhay & Pranjali

Have read a couple of pages and finding it great, I maybe will finish it now only before sleeping :D

*You'll get it when you'll read it

enjoying this very much! this quote actually describes the magic of second hand books perfectly.....
“I love inscriptions on flyleaves and notes in margins, I like the comradely sense of turning pages someone else turned, and reading passages someone long gone has called my attention to.”

IKR they are so many lol worthy

When Frank's wife send the tablecloth to Helene, she had no need to write a letter and thank the old neighbour lady, as it was bought and send by Frank's wife but she did wrote her and thanked her. Nobody does that kind of thing anymore:(

That's okay, I too have paused it.
Yeah I was wondering the same thing, she would Oder books from all the way to England and would even send edible items!!

And I guess it was a good pass time having pen friends across Atlantic!!

lol good for you!!
I have 4 500rs notes with me, will have to exchange at bank :/

did you noticed Frank mentioned Beatles! :D

“But I don't know, maybe it's just as well I never got there. I dreamed about it for so many years. I used to go to English movies just to look at the streets. I remember years ago a guy I knew told me that people going to England find exactly what they go looking for. I said I'd go looking for the England of English Literature, and he nodded and said: "It's there.”
“I don't browse in bookshops, I browse in libraries, where you can take a book home and read it, and if you like it you go to a bookshop and buy it.”

Sure which book are you thinking abt?

This is a small beautiful book . In real, the paper back looks even more beautiful than in picture .so much so I feel like eating the book instead of reading it :)
only 108 pages ,16 beautiful short stories and even a more beautiful introduction at the beginning :)
BUT ,the best fact : THIS IS THE BOOK FOR WHICH BOND GOT HIS SAHITYA ACADEMY AWARD :D
so , though I should not ,pardon this Bond fan boys unwanted suggestion ,I recommend you both ,this :P
please please please ,I beg you both ,please read this :D

Helene is a real bubbly hyper cracker of a person :) C..."
Great review, pens it done perfectly. Thanks for sharing :)

Nora's last letter was so heartfelt. I was sad About Frankie's unexpected departure.

I may have written about 4-5 letters ..."
Good idea!

This is a small beautiful book ..."
Hahaha Trainee, your recommendation is duly noted. If Abhay is fine with it, we can go with this book :)

was able to get following books from Kindle unlimited, tell me if you are interested in any
The Room on the Roof
The Night Train at Deoli and Other Stories
The Blue Umbrella
The Ruskin Bond Children's Omnibus
Ghost Stories From The Raj
A Little Book of Life
Falling in Love Again
and there are many more by rupa publication (basically collection of his short stories)

The room on the roof is bond's first literary venture (got John Llewellyn Rhys Memorial Prize in 1957 for this book) based on Rusty .so may read this
The night Train at Deoli is very good (but not a book I would suggest as your first book from Bond )
The blue umbrella is a small book ,you can finish in a day and good .
omnibus I haven't checked to see the stories they have collected
Ghost stories from Raj is not his book .he is just the editor .
A little book of life ,if I remember correctly is a collection of lessons on life and nature .you know those book which contains a single or two line in each page .mostly a gift book .but I am not sure
last two books ,i have no Idea and personally prefer his boks under penguin pub than rupa, but penguin books are not covered under kindle unlimited plan .and ebooks are hard to come by .
My suggestion would be Blue umbrella followed by the room on the roof .but even if you happens to not like them ,still please go for Our Trees Still Grow In Dehra
andRain in the Mountains: Notes from the Himalayas
hope it helps :)

yes, the cycle ride was funny also I loved how somi pronounced them "best favorite friends" over a plate of chatt.!!

havent, been to Dehradun but have traveled other places in Himachal and is just breathtaking beautiful!

Will resume tomorrow and possibly finish this..
