Jennifer Pope (jenjunum) | 902 comments I got an email today that Audible is now going to be partially free with your Amazon Prime membership. It looks like channels are going to be free and some audiobooks? Worth trying out though for free.

Denizen (den13) | 1138 comments That's good news! When is this supposed to go into effect?

message 4: by Jgrace (new)

Jgrace | 3958 comments I have prime and an audible subscription. These things have been available to me for a while now. Unfortunately, it looks like the 'free' audible books that are available are titles that I already own or that I would never listen to.

Denizen (den13) | 1138 comments Do I go to Audible to find the offered books?

They showed up on my audible app at some point when I updated, Den. I'm not sure how you go about getting the information from the site.

JoLene (trvl2mtns) | 1532 comments I think I looked at this on the website recently. They had categories with about 5 or 6 books in the categories. However, like Jgrace, I already own the ones I'm interested. The good news is that that the choices are not obscure so for someone wanted to try audio books.

Denizen (den13) | 1138 comments I couldn't find it on my phone app or the audible site. Grrrrr.

Do you have an audible membership,Den. I have one of those accounts. On my phone app its at the bottom of the screen. If I select 'channels'. And scroll down to the middle of that page there's a box that says 'included with prime AUDIOBOOKS

Hope that helps.

Jennifer Pope (jenjunum) | 902 comments I've never had audible. I downloaded the app, signed in with my Amazon account and then saw the prime logo. Hopefully the couple that they offer will change periodically. Dracula could be good for the season.

That did help - followed your directions and found the books. Unfortunately, there was nothing on my TBR offered but a few good titles that I had already read such as Cold Sassy Tree and Watership Down.

Cold Sassy Tree! How did I miss that one. It is on my TBR. So maybe next month. It will help me feel I'm getting my money's worth.

Oh, I hope you get to read it next month. That is one of my all-time favorites!
