I plan to nothing this weekend but read!

Oh boy. This one did not work for me. It never does when I hate one of the MCs. I truly disliked Izzy. A lot. I don't think she could have been more stupid, annoying, whiny...did I mention stupid? Everything was Axel's fault and to be honest, Axel had a fair amount of stupidity going for him, too. Seriously? It never occurs to either of them that talking might help in the whole relationship thing? I know that's a common ploy to create conflict that many writers seem to LOVE, but combined with the overly dramatic dialogue, it drove me up a wall.
To be honest, this is all too bad, because the general concept of these books is one that I like. A lot. I was hoping for more of a likeness to Kristen Ashley. Despite my dislike for this book, I'm still curious about Maddox. I have a feeling I'll hate myself for this, but I think I want to continue the series to get to his story.

Wait, what did I miss??? Crap...I always miss something.

I loved Maddox and his "Baby Girl". I haven't read the rest of the books yet because I heard the one with Beck and Dee was annoying so I don't want to get sucked into the series just yet when there's one that's iffy at book 3.

Lol! That's ok, Elizabeth. My memory has been crap since I had my daughter this past winter, so it would not be surprising if I missed something. :)

Baby Brain is the worse. And sorry to tell you but it never comes back!

Carrie - Given your issues this past week or so (acknowledging that I don't actually know what those issues are, but they sound significant) I will extend your timeframe for posting your week 4 book selection to the end of this theme's week, but I'll need both week 4 & 5 selection posts completed before I post week 6 :)
The rules for posting your completion posts will remain as per the challenge.

Lol! Unfortunately, I've heard that before. I have to ask, does more leave you if you have another one?

Lol! OMG! What should I expect in the future! My experience says that memory loss starts at 27 and goes downhill from there!

Option 2 key date: 25 December 2013 - Happy Christmas!
You must note how this theme qualifies in your selection post including a link to a shelf with a word such as 'ranch' or noting that the theme is evident on the GR summary page. Please contact me in this thread if you are not sure.
Just having the word 'cowboy' or 'horses' on a shelf link will not be enough - the book needs to be set on a ranch/property with horses.

YES! You get dumber with each successive pregnancy. I had to stop at two! LOL

Book: Hard as It Gets Hard as It Gets

I really did enjoy this book and at first I was a bit hesitant as I thought it might not be my type of novel, but boy was I wrong. The main character Nicholas Rexy meets Becca Merrit when she walks into the tattoo parlor that his brother owns and opens a can of worms as she needs his help.
Going back into his past where he was under the command of Becca's father who left six men dead and the rest of the troop injured and near dead, Nick has to try to push the past behind him and help Becca. But can he do it?
I loved how strong Becca was and how she was determined to find her brother - with or without the help of Nick. She was able to defend herself and wasn't a typical "help me" heroine but instead strong and self sufficient.
Rexy is a strong, sexy, hero who is determined to help Becca find her brother and clear him and the rest of his teams name. Not only are the scenes between him and Becca super hot, but they are super intense.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves suspense, super hot and intense books and strong female characters ... and the dog was pretty cute too.

Review: This was adorable. I wasn't sure how I was going to like this once I knew what Cade did for a living, but the author did a good job with it. I really didn't appreciate the way that Alexa didn't give Cade the benefit of the doubt, especially seeing how hard he had with raising his sister. But, it worked out in the end.
My complaint about this book: IT WAS TOO SHORT. That epilogue really was not enough to bring the story together in the end. But, I guess I shouldn't expect a whole lot to be accomplished in 226 pages.
This is my first book from this author. And I plan to add more of her stuff to my TBR right now!

This one was an emotional roller coaster, for sure. It would have been 5 stars but I just couldn't get a handle on Creed for the longest time which kept me wondering, which kept me from "feeling", which was pissing me off. I don't know that I've read a story where the MCs were both so completely broken for some time. It's like they both needed rescuing but were too fucked up to help each other. And stubborn. Lord were they stubborn. Did I mention broken? Yeah, a lot! Read it all in one go with a little time off to sleep so that's saying something.

Ohhhh...it's all making sense now.

Wow, you guys are quick!"
Don't forget, I wasn't able to read all week due to my sucky week at work. I was glad to be able to do nothing but read until I fell asleep last night.

Review: This book came into my life at just the right time. Call it serendipity if you will. Whatever it was, it was exactly what I needed.
I really didn't know what to expect when I first started reading it but boy did I ever feel connected to her. Not saying Liz and I are 100% the same but there are points, and many points when I would pause and go wow, too freaky, too close to home. Word for word thoughts that she has had I have experienced. There was a higher power, some other entity that led me to this particular book at this particular time.
The story of Who Got Liz Gardner is a coming of age story like no other, because it goes past the typical age frame of most and moves into a story of a young woman finding who she really is. The assorted lovers and potential lovers, relationships with her parents, soul searching, self discovery, defeat and finally victory.
I know this "review" is not really discussing the book which was well thought out and wonderfully written by the way, just to toss some normal reviewing into the mix. But for me I got so much more from just a story about a girl/woman. It has been sort of a healing process for me and I am so happy to have read this book, I feel a better person for doing so. Enlightened even. It really has helped me in what is a difficult time in my life.
