The Storyteller
question
Why Did Sage End Up Killing Josef?

I'm a little confused with the ending. Sage helped Josef die, but she didn't forgive him. Why did she assist him in murder and why did she decide to do it? Also, why did she choose not to forgive him?

I believe he asked for help in dying but Sage was a little bit shocked to do so. But then we hear Minka's story and we were bound to know, especially with a Jodi story, that Josef would turn up somewhere within. Also after the death of Minka, I think Sage did the right thing in yet the most appropriate way. I can't possibly think of another ending and having Sage help kill Josef was quite a twister indeed that I wasn't sure if it would happen or not. Besides, in the end, he did ask for it in the beginning.
As for why she chose not to forgive him, I think there's two possibilities:
1. Sage always wondered about Minka's tattoo and curious to know why she feels uncomfortable to even have it.
2. She merely said it just for Josef's sake during his last moments. I think she's still undecided on whether or not she can forgive him but said it anyways.
