Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 155 comments Amazon has each of the books of Jim Butcher :The Dresden Files, available for just $1.99, today (May 17th) only.

I liked his Codex Alera series. Any thoughts on Dresden?

Croaker (limper) | 2 comments Great series. All of the characters grow and evolve throughout. I wouldn't miss out on that pricing.

Carole-Ann (blueopal) What Croaker said!! They're great fun, with the occasional LOL moment, and COMPLETELY different to the Codex Alera series (which I enjoyed very much too!)

Dresden is Urban Fantasy at it's best. The later books are more involved and complicated, but at that price? Well worth it!!

Deborah (goodreadscomdeborah_jay) | 18 comments Mega disappointing - they aren't reduced on Amazon UK... :(

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 155 comments Awww....sorry Deborah!
:(

Wish they could get that "stuff"together!

Always seems daft that they operate the different websites like different companies - makes marketing/pricing very complicated :(

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 155 comments Found out it's not all of them. Only the first 6 or so.
I hadn't realized how many there where!

Hmmm.....that's quite a commitment.

I read the first book and thought it was pretty good for a quick read; I read the second book and thought it was so much like the first book it felt more like a reread rather than a different story. It was the final nail in the coffin lid that caused me to quit reading episodic character series altogether.

Johnny Martin Too bad you didn't keep reading. His writing improves with each book and the writing of his other series Codex Alera shows his versatility of writing skills. The story the setting and all the characters are far different than Dresden Files but each series stands on it's own! Give it another try! New characters are introduced and a sub sub plot comes out!

Domino Finn (dominofinn) | 3 comments I bought all 7 too. IT'll probably be a month or so before I can start reading them though. I'm expecting good things!

Paul Spence (paulbspence) | 20 comments My advice is not to give up on them! They get better!

Really, I stopped reading them for a while because I felt the plots weren't interesting enough, and I was really busy with school.

However, stating with Changes the series really picks up and moves in a great direction. Cold Days is one of my favorite books, I'm reading again before reading Skin Game, his newest.
