You should read the story in Side Jobs, "Something Borrowed" before starting this one, if you get a chance. It's not very long and it tells about Billy and Georgia's wedding.

(Loved his "Now you've done it" part. You've done it: you said you'd solve the problem quickly. Now it means everything's gonna go to the dogs. This is so true in Harry!World. XD)

Also, good on Harry for finally having the guts to ask Murphy. I'm really happy that it didn't happen though.

Is anyone getting the vibe that Molly will be the new Harry? And also a possible love interest later? I can't tell ... But it seems like Harry will need a supernatural lover?
Maybe I'm reading it wrong. Perhaps he's just gonna be her teacher. Dunno.
I'm at 65% right now. Where is everyone else?

The connection between Molly and Harry is a little creep. Like when she was 14 and talked to Harry about sex. That is just wrong! (view spoiler)[ Bob suggesting that Harry hook-up with Molly because she was showering in his room. Awkward! Molly's mom can't stand Harry and finding her in a towel didn't help Harry's case any. I'm wondering if Molly is having a fantasy of her and Harry getting together. Her mother would kill Harry and I don't think Michael would like that either. (hide spoiler)] I like Murphy but I don't think a relationship between them would work. I'm glad mouse is ok. I feel sorry for Thomas. He has tried to fight against his nature but that will never work. I think Molly and Harry could team up but not hook up.

I agree with you, Leigh. But, (view spoiler)[ I suspect Harry will end up taking responsibility for Molly's rehabilitation with magic, and that as time goes on and she gets older, it will be less creepy? It happened with Hawke, after all, and we accepted it.

We accepted it with Hawke once Sieanna was eighteen. I didn't see him as a father figure to her. Shifters are different. It is less creepy with them. I don't know why. Harry could be Molly's father and that's what creeps me out.

So I went to bed yesterday evening, thinking "it's already midnight, I'm going to read for 10-15 minutes, then lights out."

Remind me never to do that again with a Dresden Files book in hand. It just doesn't work.

The scene about the sword, who to give it to, and which other Council member held one before: it seriously cracked me up. I'll admit I wouldn't mind see this actually happening. XD

Also, the scene with Molly (view spoiler)[at the end, when she drops the robe: for a second, I thought it was Lash playing with Harry's mind again. I'm so glad he didn't take advantage of the kid. (hide spoiler)] He's far from perfect and sometimes his chivalry, especially when women are concerned, can be a little annoying, but all in all, he's managed to remain a pretty good man until now. And considering all he's seen and done, it's really not so easy as it sounds.

Totally agree. I'm glad Dresden didn't take her up on the offer. Do you think Molly really likes Dresden or is she drawn to the power that Dresden has coupled with the fact her mother can't stand him and Molly just wants to rebel?

Not sure. Possibly she's also seeing him as a sort of hero figure, but being not really experienced, she's mistaken that feeling for something else?

The Merlin might be part of that. Or he could be an old politician so blinded by years of intrigue that walking a very hard line is a way of asserting his position and power, in a period where power is slipping away from the Council becase of the war? At this point, both hypotheses could work for me.

I can see a possible relationship between Harry and Molly...in the future. I think I'd rather see him with Murphy, though.

Did anyone else catch the connection between Molly being tempted by black magic and Harry being tempted by the angel? They are going through pretty much the same thing.

I'm not sure about Molly. It seems like their relationship (if it existed) would never be quite equal.

I'd rather see him with Murphy than Molly...but she wouldn't be my first choice either. Susan would be my pick.

I agree, though, that at this point he really doesn't need a love interest. Harry is wholly complete upon himself without a "better half." Plus, that would take all the fun out of figuring out who it might be :)

I don't think Harry deserves a lady until he can stop treating them like bodies and objects. His "chivalry" is overdone, to the point that it has the opposite effect.
