I saw a series of books from the 80's/90's that centred around one viking character, but were really fantasy rather than historical fiction. There were around 8 in the series, and the author is male. They were re-released a few years ago as special, shiny new and glossily bound hardcovers, with the ebooks done by Gollancz's SF Gateway. Any ideas?

Maybe Space Viking Found this link to Google books Space VikingAnd this is Gollancz's website Gollancz
There's a search box at the top. I tried to look the books up, but not knowing what the covers look like, could have seen them and not noticed.
No that's not it. The signature of the covers was that the viking always had those metal wings on his helmet like old fashioned Marvel Thor.
Henry, is this Viking fantasy series for young adults/teens or older adults?
Which countries does the Viking travel to?
Is there any romance in the books? What's the theme or tone?

The viking series is for adults, I think the main character travels to Britain. There's no romance as far as I know and the theme is good fun with darker shades (I think).
I've found the author and series name. It's the Kane series by Karl Edward Wagner, and the main character is a "Viking" in a loose sense, and the hardcovers are done by centipede press. Thanks for the help.
Great! Thanks for the update, Henry. Here's the link for the Kane series by Karl Edward Wagner - https://www.goodreads.com/series/4922...
