Review:
The story picks up right where it left off in the previous book, with Sydney being held captive by the Alchemists and Adrian desperate to find her.
We get to see how the Alchemists bring the ones who have 'lost their way' back into the 'light', for their own good of course.

Sydney proves the strength of her character again and again while Adrian, who I got a little impatient with in this book, (view spoiler) .
Thankfully he finally snaps out of it and due to Sydney's quick brain and brave actions, finally manages to (view spoiler) .
In the meanwhile, Sydney forms some bonds with her fellow captives and tries to help them in great danger to herself. The difference between how she used to be in the earlier books and how she is now is great and I really like the person she has become.
Even when they finally manage to get Sydney out their problems are not over, since she has now become the number one target for the Alchemists who use their vast resources to track and try to recapture her.
Adrian is not about to lose her again and comes up with a way to keep her out of the Alchemists' reach, (view spoiler) .
As usual the author ends the book at a point where a lot of issues remain unresolved and even though it's not as bad as the previous book, I still hate having to wait for the next one.

Well, it has vampires, so that's how I shelved it. LOL.

Although A Girl's Guide to Vampires isn't the most well-written book in the world, it has something that most paranormal vampire romances are lacking; humor. Although Joy and Roxy got on my nerves sometimes, they at least kept a cynical, sarcastic outlook on the whole thing, as opposed to other romance heroines that swallow their Beau's statements hook, line, and sinker. The men are tall, dark and smoldering (which they should be in a romance novel) and had enough personality to make them worth investing the time to care about them. Overall, it is worth reading.

And I am grateful! I wasn't sure if most people would shelve it under shifter because of Curran. I am hoping to finish it tonight/tomorrow. Depends when toots passes out after all the excitement today :)

Lots of stuff going on in this one! I really want to go right into book 3, not really a bad cliffhanger but some major loose ends! I really like Rylee and hate that she carries so much guilt. Cant wait to see how things unfold in the next one!

Thanks on both counts. She had a fab time, although I am knackered!
You were all right by the way - the book was AMAZING!!! I'm still trying to gather my thoughts but all I can say is I love Curran...
I saw Team 4 have officially won now, it was a pleasure reading with you all! Thanks, Thenia for donning the Captain hat. It's been fun :)
