Review:
This is the seventh book in the Secret McQueen series. This series is very UF, but has romantic threads woven into the storyline. Secret is the ultimate in snarky dhampire heroines and still sorting out her latest love triangle. I'm "Team Desmond" all the way... She is still recovering from the battle wounds of the previous book while exacting her final revenge on a couple of targets in this one. A couple of lingering storylines get wrapped up, but there always seems to be more dangling issues to address. This one brought closure and tears. Really like this series and the character development over the last several books. Only negative, she is in the upper hierarchy of NYC wolf pack and a part of the Vampire Tribunal... How is it still a secret that she is part vamp, part wolf? Come on...
ANDDDD there was another cliffhanger again... The final book in the series which promises tear-jerking moments is next, so December cannot get here fast enough... This is a series I would recommend to anyone likes a Kate Daniels / Jane Yellowrock tough, weapon wielding chick type UF series. This series gives me a similar vibe...

I know, right? :((
I didn't know that either until I was peeking ahead today... And saw this note in the description for #8... "Warning: The final book in the Secret McQueen series has it all: hot kisses, unexpected guests, and enough tear-jerking moments to require a whole box of tissues. You’ve been warned."

Alright... I didn't like this this book after a while. I started it with great enthusiasm because of all the hype about KA and her stories and her writing and everything else. I got pulled in by the KA propaganda machine. I've been trying to step outside of reading nothing but PNR/UF so I guess my mistake was going with what most people tout as a good read because as is the case with most popular books, I didn't like it. Now I feel like the bad guy...alright I don't but still I don't want to be the odd kid out.
The Good: I liked Indy's character, I LOVED Lee's character. She's fun, loving, care free, rocker chick, and her point of view was actually really funny. Lee is all mysterious and brooding and all "you're my woman" but not in an aggressive dominant way. He had a more subtle dominance. If you know what I mean.
So why only give this book 3 stars...It was the plot line, the over the top, in your face, this bad guy that bad guy, this kidnapping, that kidnapping, this ridiculous character, that ridiculous character, and there were a lot of side characters. And the clencher, what would have made this book a DNF if not for this challenge, was the constant annoying interuption every time they became intimate. I mean I can understand one, maybe two, but it went on like 6 times before they finally did the deed and then when they do the deed. It's MEH MEH MEH. All that lead up to nothing. I was done after that. I won't continue this series. It's just not for me.

Review:
The world building and on going story arc in this series are excellent, but the characters always seem to fall flat. Patience and Brandt are no exception.
While Patience seems to have gotten over her self-indulgent whining from the first books, Brandt is still cold and distant. The romantic subplot focuses on Brandt recognizing that in order to become the warrior he is destined to be, he needs to not only love his wife but accept the person she has become and trust in her as well. Unfortunately, neither Brandt nor Patience quite manage to make me care one way or the other.

Thanks AH. It's actually really quiet where I am. I live in Karmiel, which is in the north. We had a couple of sirens the other night when rockets were fired from Lebanon but nothing since then. Hope it stays quiet.

Where does your sister live?

Oy! They had a hit at a school the other day. So glad its the school holiday."
Argh. I have no words...

Kitty Goes to War By Carrie Vaughn
7/15/14 ****
Sorry this one's kind of sloppy, doing on my iPad on the go. This was another great installment of Kitty. This is one of those series that I always love to read, but sometimes forget about in between reads. In this book, there was a lot going on. Kitty and Ben are dealing with Cormac being back in the free world, Kitty is getting hit with a slander lawsuit for a story on her radio show that she's fairly certain she can fight, and the government has asked for her help with some werewolf soldiers with control issues. Kitty is busy in this book and it was an exciting read.

Review:
This is the 9th book in the Ridgeville series and takes place almost 9 years after the first book He Ain't Lion (which is also a freebie...) The story follows the Alpha Alex's second, Grayson Shor, lion shifter of the Ridgeville Pride and Honor, his buddy Brute's little sister. This story has been brewing for several "Ridgeville years" as we are first introduced to Honor when she is a bratty 16 year old and Grayson realizes she is his destined mate, but patiently waits as she matures to the age when he can claim her. After high school she quickly departs for London to pursue her college degree. Flash forward 4 years, Honor returns to Ridgeville traumatized by a mysterious event that happed with the lion pride in London during her first heat. Grayson is the most supportive and loving mate as he helps her overcome the experience and heal enough to be ready to finally accept him as mate. Grayson is the best! And as the story slowly unfolds, Honor is surrounded by the Alpha's mate, Maya and all her besties who rally around Honor offering the light humor and comic relief that is always included in these stories. Very enjoyable series...
