Aelin, promised for the vengeful gods
Manon, promised queen of her clan
Maeve, promised to the valg kings.
.. it can go at least 3 ways:
->> Aelin takes the role she's already assumed to have. (Which may or may not be true, given that Maeve never had to speak the truth to her in the first place)
->> Manon could sacrifice herself for the greater good, in lieu of evils she's commited in the past, or something.
->> Maeve, who you'd think would never go willingly, might just be: 1, getting tired of the mortal realm, and had always wanted Aelin to be a Queen; of which group is the question (Valg, Human, or a replacement for Maeve herself as she sits?) and 2, could be tricked by Aelin in some manner into sacrificing herself.
.. maybe in lieu of not having her fire in control, her water powers strengthens and helps her in a different way, like for the healers.
Things that Maeve told us up until now are in the air completely, as she never had to tell the truth, now that we know she's valg, she could've lied every step of the way, and likely did. If there's anything we know about the valg, it's that they're master manipulators.
I can't wait to read this next book. Good to see it has a cover now too. lol -- yey october.

If anyone is going to die, I'm willing to sacrifice Chaol down to the fact that he's pretty frickin' useless.
I don't think Aelin is pregnant and I don't want Lysandra to be pregnant because I feel like that just puts too much stress on everyone. She's a useful asset in the team and if she is pregnant there is no way in hell that any of the territorial fae bastards are going to let her fight and I think her skills are desperately needed.
On another note, LORCAN IS PRECIOUS AND DOES NOT DESERVE THE HATE HE'S GETTING AND I REFUSE TO LET HIM DIE! Honestly he reminds me of Aelin in HoF when she felt lost and she broke down because she had no one and all she needed was a friend. Lorcan is lost and I think he really needs someone like Elide to help him. And lets not forget that he took all of Rowan's WHIPPINGS when he and the cadre went to help up in Mistward. AND he has been emotionally blackmailed and abused by Maeve, the only person he's ever really known to be able to depend on and she's been using him. Lorcan doesn't even know what love outside of an abusive relationship is. I don't think he should have to do all the grovelling to get into Elide's good books but instead she should help him.
(Ps O'm also 100% convince Fenrhys is a descendant of the Night Court cause it's literally in his name: F=Feyre E=Elain N=Nesta and well the 'Rhys' part is obvious)
I hope we see more of Vaughan (yeah remember that guy? The sixth member of the cadre?) I want to see him do something and suss out whether he is a potential ally or an enemy. Just to satisfy my own curiosity.
And I'm still looking for signs that Maeve might be Nesta although highly unlikely I think it would be a cool plot twist and that ACOTAR is just us watching Nesta become Maeve. Especially considering that for the entirety of the ACOTAR series she's described as a queen without a thrown. But then again this is probably a theory best left to fan fiction.

What if Maeve possessed his SISTER'S body. (spoiler for ACOWAR sort of*** And Maeve doesn't have the Illyrian wings cause Tamlin ripped them off and whatnot)
This is farfetched I know but still I would be pretty cool *emotional* if it was true.

So odds are Maas will start the book by eluding to Manon, and her journey to find the last Crochans, and the Maeve predicament will be the last part of the book. In the end, either all three queens get what they're promised, or none of them do. If promises are broken, all the Heirs will kill Maeve together, Manon will yield, and Aelin will bring peace.
The Heirs:
Aelin - Mala
Lorcan - Hellas
Elide - Annieth
Lysandra - I forgot the name, greek mythology equivalent is Artemis
Yrene - Silba
I forgot any others..

SHE DID SIMILAR THINGS AT THE END OF ACOMAF AND EOS.
THEY WERE MATED AND SECRETLY MARRIED

I'm kind of expected a Midnight Star ending with Kingdom of Ash, I think all of our favorites will have to give up something in order to defeat Erawan(he's the main villian, remember?) and Maeve.

The question is what characters are -necessary- for the kingdom(s) to broker peace after the war?
- Manon, as probably witch queen, potentially uniting the clans
- Aelin and/or Lysandra.. IF the lords deem her worthy of her crown and they don't STILL oust her from being more than trophy-queen. This is still a pretty large obstacle, because Aelin wanted to do it by their rules.
- Rowan and/or the cadre members for the Fae, unless there is another bloodline that is unmentioned, given that Maeve disappears one way or another, and the inevitable power-vacuum that will be left. (I wonder if her mind tricks will continue to work after she's gone from the realm, in one way or another, and will the fae get their memory back?.. or would it kill them, considering how significantly she changed some of them)
- Dorian, for the magic-wielding humans, to help them feel like they have a place again.
- Chaol (and Yrene), non-magical humans (can't have one without the other, don't forget), to give them some strength as well. Many will have the same feelings Chaol did about magic.
>>>>>>>>
- Lorcan / Elide have served their purpose to the story, aside from helping the rest find help and fighting for the cause.
- Nesryn/Sartaq have mostly served their purpose as well, getting aerial assistance and military might to the cause, as well as fighting themselves. Sartaq may have a role in brokering peace, but that culture had separated itself from the world for so long, I don't know if there's a reason for him to be involved.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
I still feel like Nox is going to play a role somewhere. Every person she's made a point to save the life of, tends to come back into the story somewhere. Will he have his own guild, or some other way to repay Aelin? It may be a minor role, but I think it'll be there.
SOON. lol -- hopefully the book doesn't get delayed again.

i agree and it will be so sad

As far as Aelins situation, I don’t think there’s any way she’s getting away from maybe all on her own (ie melting the coffin or something like that) and I also don’t think that Maeve plans to keep her in the coffin indefinitely. It seemed to me that the coffin was more a mode of transport but I could be missing something. The only real way I see her getting out, as I’m sure Maeve is expecting Rowan and friends, is if Fenrys and connal somehow help her out. While I think that Fenrys obviously wants to help Aelin, he still seems to bound to Maeve, mostly because of connal, to do anything really groundbreaking for her situation. Connal, however, might be able to maneuver a little more. We don’t know much about him, but most of the characters seem to see him as Maeve’s sex toy, Fenrys included. I could see connal getting fed up with Maeve, and with Fenrys being bound to her because of him, and deciding to help Aelin, maybe even sacrificing himself in the process. This will all, I’m sure, be spurred on with a few sassy/bossy words from Aelin, of course.
Also, I see Elise and her heritage somehow being a big game changer, just not entirely sure how. She just seems underused to me so far. Just some thoughts.

THIS!
I really want R and A to survive together, but first and foremost, no Allegiant crap, seriously!

It also seems like maeve's game is to turn aelin against Rowan with her powers. It also says that months go by in the mean time while Rowan searches. I wonder if Maeve is even in the same realm anymore.
I think under this duress, she could develop her water power.

Well that was my thought of the month. I guess it's time to go back to counting down the days till release.

I'd also really like Elide and Lorcan to get together, they are so cute.

If Rowan sacrifices his immortality, doesn't Aelin still have her immortality? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Maeve say to Aelin at the end of EoS that in five years Aelin would Settle? In the excerpt of KoA, Aelin described herself as "A princess who was to live for a thousand years. Longer." So what if Rowan DOES sacrifice his immortality and he becomes mortal? Would Aelin sacrifice her immortality for him? What if Aelin somehow isn't allowed to sacrifice her immortality and she has to watch Rowan grow old while she stays young? That would be so sad...

I hope Rowan finds Aelin himself, but I think she should be badly hurt to add a bit of drama to the whole not-telling-your-my-mate thing.
And while Rowan is looking for Aelin, I want Galan, Illias, Yrene, Chaol, and the others to realize that Lysandra-Aelin is fake and demand a real answer to where aelin is. In Crown of Midnight, Sarah did kinda hint that Chaol often knew when something was wrong with Celeana. Although.... does Aelin not physically being present when she calls in a debt matter? Like do they still have to help? If they do find out, and they don’t have to help, I hope that they decide to stay anyways.
Then maybe when Aelin returns everyone would be shocked at her injuries and worry. But It would be cool if maybe training with Cairn ( I think it was mentioned in eos that cairn would train her ) gave her more experience with her powers, perhaps in a more darker way. I think Maeve is planning on not letting Aelin escape and is pretty confident, maybe? If so maybe she was training Aelin first, then working on controlling her? Anyways, with the training she heals much faster than usual, and has more deadly moves to use in the battle.
For the battle, I think Maeve and erwan are gonna team up, maybe with Maeve bargaining that she’ll marry Erwan after the whole deal and let him be king? Then maybe Erwan will know her plan and during the war with Aelin and the others, use his wyrdkey and valg magic to open a portal to valg-land? (Not very sure on this part) Then He might get Maeve into the portal and shield her from coming back out? Lol, maybe something about “ won’t let them hurt u ur my mate” imagine if they are mates! Do valg have mates? They might have some reason/grudges as to why Maeve didn’t marry him back then.
Then he’ll fight Aelin but get cornered into the portal by aelin since he already wasted so much of his power opening the portal and shielding Maeve.
Ok, so I think Aelin should sacrifice herself. She will die and the portal will close her body not staying but fading away.
Rowan will be so sad and assuming the armies have fought already head back to terassen. On that note, where will the battle be? I mean it will probably cause much destruction, and the title is kingdom of ash so maybe in one of the kingdoms? Anyway, depending on if it is or isn’t in terrasen, Rowan and the gang will head back there.
Meanwhile, aelin will be up with the gods. They will hopefully say some “you have fulfilled you destiny” stuff and then say something ominous like “ your time has not yet come to die “ and then she will come back.
Coming back, assuming the gang (I’m calling them a gang whatever)
Is in the dining room, aelin will appear ghostly in the seat they left empty in the head of the table *cries* every one will turn hopeful but she’ll say you “guys were the best friends ever and other mushy stuff” and then they’ll think she’s a ghost.
But as she is talking, she starts to gain back her fae form. No one notices, and since she can’t just fade away ( shes alive duh ) I hop she does something funny to show them she’s alive.
This wouldn’t be very Aelin-like but it’d be funny;
She would push back her chair, and stand up, slowly squatting down then she will slide under the table and hide there. Everybody suspiciously looks under the table and she’ll say something sarcastic like “I’m not dead, idiots”. If we’re lucky, Rowan we’ll turn over the massive table and tackle her as well as every one on that side of the table. Everyone on the other side will be squished and Aelin would be like “Rowan lift the table you’re actually gonna kill some one with a table by squishing them like a grape!
SO YEAH. That was a really messy and unorganized version of how I want the story to go. Of course that’s only how I want it to go, I don’t actually think this will happen but we’ll see.
Okay this is getting way to long. It is almost a fan fiction lol. Bye.
Why am I saying bye? Oh whatever.
Edit: I haven’t really thought about the armies or manon or elide Lorcan and the other that much. Not really sure how that will play out. I would prefer for Aelin to sacrifice herself though. One last act of selflessness maybe? Sorry Rowan.

That would be so cruel... but wouldn’t Rowan have felt the bond between Cairn and him? I mean, Rowan knew Adeion was Gavriel’s son when they met... I guess maybe Maeve hid the bond like how she made one in between Rowan and Lyria?

she cannot kill Dorian!!! all hail king cinnamon roll.

I personally wouldn't mind if either Aelin or Rowan dies (just ONE of them though, both of them can't die in the last book). I really want a sad/tragic ending that is filled with hope. Like for example Rowan dies but Aelin is alive and maybe she's pregnant or something. As long as one of them rules Terassen and hopefully there's an heir I wouldn't be disappointed if the other dies. I will still definitelt cry my eyes out but I'll love it. (Cause I love it when books and movies make me cry lol)

Maybe... or the other will just be really depressed. Or maybe Rowan
and Aelin die together and they’ll leave terassen to aedion and lysandra. It would go to aedion next right?

Sorry but I can't agree with you on that. I believe that Rowan and Aelin make the story, and without them the series would be destroyed. I believe the only person that really has motive and therefore should sacrifice themselves/die is Dorain (sorry but this cinammon roll kinda lost the cinammon when he went all I'm sexy and I know it with Manon).
Either neither of them die or they both die, because if only one of them lived the ending would be kinda ruined as that person wouldn't have their mate and realistically they would go into depression, suicide and then kill themselves in the end. Not go "oh yeah, that person died, but I can find hope and lead Terrasson or something" because realistically they wouldn't be able to.
Plus I think Aelin, Rowan, Dorain or even Maeve (cause you know she may want to get rid of her husband herself) should get the final blow not Chaol. If anything Aelin deserves the final kill blow the most, as she has literally had her life dictated and lead to die all because of this king so why shouldn't she get that satisfaction of killing the person that basically screwed over her entire life, killed her parents, killed her, had a dead soul guide her towards another death, see her friend get killed, endure torture and whipping....... *take deep breath* honestly the list can go on for ages.

That actually sounds plausible, except for the fact that Dorian has moved onto Manon. I would actually be interested in reading about Manon's heart breaking at Dorian's death. Like, I think it would change her character so much. She'll become more like Asterin. I can imagine Manon crying over Dorian's death and Asterin just comforting her because she's been through something similar. And yes I agree SJM will definitely give us a bitter happy ending. But wait, if Dorian dies then who will rule Adarlan?

TBH and this may rip your ManonxDorian up, but to me, I can't really see the two of them as anything more than a rebound or sexual fling. As Dorain still hasn't received time to process and grieve Sorsha and Manon doesn't seem like one to care for affections and love. Plus a lot of what Dorian is doing seems out of character for him and I think this is his way of trying not to fall apart as he did see the person he loved decapitated right before being enslaved to a valg, which tainted his mind and caused him to forget a lot of the important people in his life.
And I don't think Manon would cry over his death or be at all emotional. Manon doesn't seem like the type to become attached or involved in relationships enough to be emotionally distraught when something bad happens. I mean did you see how she reacted when Aelin was whipped on the beach?

Lol no worries. I understand what you're getting at. Tbh I used to dislike Manon but during my reread of the whole series a few weeks ago I started to like Manon as a character. She is interesting, but I agree that she and Dorian aren't fully compatible. I've also been surprised about the things that Dorian has been doing in EoS with Manon. He needs more time to heal. And I guess the thing with watching Aelin getting whipped is true. Maybe Manon will meet a Crochan boy and that'll end ManonxDorian? And maybe Dorian will continue to be single and sacrifice himself for the lock? And so instead of leaving a specific lover behind to grieve his death he's leaving behind all his friends in general? Lol idek.

She did go check up on him in the end of QoS, yknow the part where she sees no collar on his neck? Maybe it was just to see if the battle turned out, or to see how magic was freed. After, in EOS though, she doesn’t seem to care that much. And Dorian is still kinda sad whenever Sorchas name is mentioned.

just kidding Dorian cares about everyone😊

If anyone is going to die, I'm willing to sacrifice Chaol down to the fact that he's prett..."
But Chaol and Yrene.... that is problem

Asterin is someone I think will die, she'll be on the battlefield, and she'd push Manon away and be like; 'Go fall in love' (with Dorian) and then yield.

PS who e..."
That book was so bad!!! I mean I read it because I thought it would add to the plot but all it did was further push that choal was a jerk.

I agree that Chaol comes across as a jerk a bit for sure. I wonder if SJM meant that to happen?

Anyone else think that maybe Marian’s (spelt it wrong) mother/ elides grandmother or maybe add a generation, could be the Witchling?
Also I’m 100% certain that falkan is the traidor in assassins blade.
