Are you currently reading any Gothic poetry or perhaps writing a book of some of your own? If so feel free to share it here.

I'm currently reading The Undertaker's Cabinet, it's not Poetry but it's definitely Gothic as it's theme is quite morbid and takes place in modern times and the Victorian Era.

Also I am currently working on a sequel to my first book of poetry, The Macabre Masterpiece: Poems of Horror and Gore which will be entitled, The Macabre Masterpiece: Repressed Carnage. Unlike the first book this book will consist of poems of prose and free verse. It will also consist of dark themes that give the feeling and presence of horror rather than just about horror directly. I have finished the poems and am just going over them all making corrections and what not. I hope to have it done soon.

The Keys of Death and Hades

This is the Epic Poem I am working on about Lucifer. It is the first book in a six book series following his fall, reclaiming of Hell, conquering of Earth, the apocalypse and Armageddon, and his final battle with God.

About the first book:
The story of Lucifer's fall from heaven is well known. His wicked nature is legendary, surviving for many years, yet as all conflicts go there are two sides. These opposing sides each with their own reasons and justifications. Knowing only part of the story is worthless. The Keys of Death and Hades is the first book in the Epic of Lucifer. It is the story as it happened through the Wyrm's eyes. What could be so precious that Lucifer would dare defy the will of God, supreme creator of all, fail and try again?

I have always wanted to write an epic about Lucifer. My fiancé is the muse behind it becoming a reality. I loved writing the first book. I am nearly finished with the second. Hopefully it is enjoyed as much.

I'm almost ready to release my newest book, The Macabre Masterpiece: Repressed Carnage. It's a book of 60 poems within five chapters each a chilling place representing horror. As stated before, unlike the first book it has poems both rhyming and prose. I felt the best way to tell some tales were not in rhyme but in simple regular free verse and just as chilling if not more.

In many ways I wish to not only capture new fans with the book but to get back what I never got with the first book. The Macabre Masterpiece was my first book, my first "Masterpiece" if you will. This one is a way to show that not only is horror poetry a thing but poetry is not dead and it's also a way to reclaim what the first book never got..the recognition it deserved. So I hope this new book will be an enjoyment for lovers of horror and poetry.

Here is a fact: I just bought H.P. Lovecraft's collection, and I can't stop reading it.

Why is this so?

Anyways, I am a little confused about his work called 'The Tomb' - just what the heck is going on?

Right now I am reading The Golem. If you like occult fiction, like Dion Fortune, you will like this. Both individuals were also Golden Dawn members.

I wrote a book, Savannah Gothic. I recommend the paperback version as it was my first book and I published independently. My kindle formatting came out pretty weird. Savannah Gothic is a collection of 52 gothic themed poems and 52 black and white photographs. It is about my life, but also about addiction, mental illness, the paranormal, paganism, generational curses, family secrets, love, and lust. Jealousy and anger. I put my heart and soul into it, so if you would like to read it, I would really love that. I am passionate about the gothic community, and I am one of the few people in Savannah organizing Gothic community events to bring more like minded people together.

Nice Monica I will have to go and check it out. I think books about ones life are far more interesting :-) I too went the self publishing route with my first book of poetry Poems: An Exploration of Life can be found on Amazon. Mine is also about my life and all its ups and downs. If you are interested please check it out, I love to have feedback.
