SOLVED. Creepy story about the moon or moonlight. [s]

All I can remember about this book is a feeling, mostly.

The story was creepy, scary, but maybe most of all, lonesome feeling. I think the moon was bad! The moon was definitely creepy in someway and its moonlight was terrifying, the way it creeped into a room.

I am not sure if this was a short story or what, but my guess would be ya of some kind. any ideas? Thanks for guessing :)

I've been racking my brain for some more useful details.

I THINK... there was a girl who was afraid of the moon. The moonlight would ? find her ? and I think make her feel bad or lonely or sort of tell her things through the moonlight, maybe?

Here is something I am sure about, all of the sudden : the moon stole her parents.
