Neodrauka | 6 comments Book read in the 90's, from what I can recall, A family (Mother, Father, Young boy, Teenage Girl) and the teenage girls female friend, vacation away to a remote cabin in the woods. At some point, I'm not sure if it's when they attempt to leave, they encounter an impenetrable and invisible 'Force Field' or wall.

After further investigation by the male protagonist [Father], (He climbs a tall tree, boats into a lake to find the perimeter etc.) he comes to the conclusion they're trapped in a large transparent dome. They also get attacked by some sort of flying creatures at night. The only other thing I recall is there is a sort of torrid love affair between the father and the older teenage girl which causes some angst among the family (Obviously). I think also maybe the young boy plays a pretty vital role in uncovering something of their situation?

Not much to go on but perhaps it triggers something in someone and they might be able to help put this memory to bed.

Keywords : Family Vacation, Cabin, Trapped, Dome, Forest, Science Fiction.

Cheers all!

Neodrauka, please note the bump period for this large group is 30+ days -- or sooner if you remember more information.

What's the location - Australia/U.S./country, region of the country, another planet, etc.?

Ah. I do apologise, I guess I shirked my ethics read up on joining, Sorry again ^.^ This book has just been a persistent thorn and I can't seem to wrangle an answer from multiple sources online and scouring the internet. Closest I have gotten is another person was looking for the same book years ago, but didn't get an answer sadly.

As for location I believe it is set in a typical American 'Cabin in the woods' type setting. I also had another flash memory, the father gets abducted I think, (Not sure if stereotypical 'aliens' are the culprits) dismembered and returned still alive?

I think I'm going to have to chalk this up to a lost cause soon haha.

Definitely the same, seen a few people looking for it but remains largely a mystery. Hopefully soon combined details will jog a memory.
