I finished The Girl on the Train yesterday. Awful characters, but the mystery kept me turning the pages. Now I've been reading The Terror to get in the mood for Halloween. And I was also in the mood for a chunkier book this time.
I have just finished Free the DarknessReign of Madness and although I just randomly picked the first book I was pleasantly surprised with the story, and the different writing style. I thought they were a very good read.
Currently reading The Last Days of New Paris. Then Killing the Rising Sun: How America Vanquished World War II Japan
I'm currently rereading a standalone, To Ride Hell’s Chasm and it is every bit as good as I remembered, if not more. Knowing the ending is not spoiling my fun and I'm noticing many different nuances in second pass...again, hats off to Janny Wurts, she is definitely my favorite epic fantasy author.Next's Empire of Storms and probably more Malazan, I've Midnight Tides waiting for me.
I'm finally jumping on the Michael J. Sullivan train and reading the Theft of Swords for the first time. Really enjoying it so far. It is fun to get a fantasy that is not too heavy and one where I can spend a whole afternoon just reading. Sometimes fantasy can get really political or complicated so this is a wonderful book to provide a great plot while still being an easy read!
