FALL 2016 READING CHALLENGE
finished Prodigal Son (character named Michael) task. 4 starsI wasn't a fan of the detectives in this story but overall I really liked this book. I will definitely continue the series (hope deucalion has a bigger part in book 2-he's a badass :)
I loved the Frankenstein series, enraptured by it actually it kept getting better and Decalion is very bad ass!!

I am currently re-reading the series with Koontzland and by the end, I hope I agree with you completely :-) Koontz typically has a problem with series. I didn't like how Odd Thomas went and he never finished the Chris Snow Series. So far, I'm really enjoying my re-read. Will start City of Night this week.

I haven't heard of any major clown incidents in Colorful Colorado, but I rather live as hermit so I don't always hear about everything. The world gets too loud for me. I don't have any type of television/cable service. I like to live in my own little world and I am happy here.
Hi, everyone! It's been a little quiet in this thread-just checking in to see how everyone is doing.Hope all is well :D
I finished listening to
which works for #3. Went through a bad spell of not wanting to read or listen to audio books. Hope all is well with everyone!

I have finished a book with HALLOWEEN in the title. I had actually given this one an attempt for another Fall Reading Challenge in the past, and this time I finished it. It was a memoir.
The New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance

I finished a book about Cancer for this challenge
Everybody's Got SomethingI thought it would be about Robin's struggle with Breast cancer; that was mentioned but it was when she had MDS later and needed a bone marrow transplant.
Here is my review:

I've been busy. I'm glad to see everyone is good and reading interesting books. I hope to add a couple of books to my challenge soon!
I am currently reading Agatha Christie's Hallowe'en Party for the challenge and will post more when I finish.

Clever Karen :-)

Dustin, I am enjoying this book much more than I thought I would. I have the audio and the Kindle and the narration on the audio is well done. It's clear and easy to understand the British accents.

I never would have considered reading it - had I not seen you post about Halloween Party. It's been a long time since I even attempted an Agatha Christie title. Will have to think about it now :-)

I'm not usually a big Agatha Christie fan although there are some I like. It's always hit or miss with me and usually it's the Miss Marple ones I prefer. But this narrator, Hugh Frasier, is good and helps me get into it. Plus I like that the murder takes place at a children's part and I like Hercule Poirot in this one.

Thanks for the recommendation :-)
finished North American Lake Monsters: Stories
- for the smart task. 3 starsThese short stories all started great but the endings fell flat for me (with one exception-the story sunbleached was really good).
Sometimes the ending was just meh and sometimes I had no idea what the hell I just read.
It was Halloweeny though :)
I've added two books to my challenge.
That was my random challenge. Thanks for picking it for me, Rachel. It was a good read, not as sad as I thought it would be. I am interested to see what comes next for Louisa. It was hopeful despite what Will's choice ended up being. I also listened to
. I can't remember what task # that was but it was by Colson Whitehead. Powerful book, powerful writing, excellent narration.

Thanks for the update, Christine! :D
Hope your next book is more enjoyable.
I'm sure the next one will be better, more enjoyable. I am trying to read one classic per month. A Separate Peace fell into the category of a book set at a school and a classic, one I never read in my school days. Most of the time the experience is enjoyable and I get something out of the book that I might not have when I was younger. Now I don't have to wonder about this particular book anymore. Its always on the lists of best books of all time.........It won't be on mine, lol.
I don't know either. As a teacher I have had to teach books that neither the students nor I enjoyed and yes, one year it was A Separate Peace and I hated trying to teach it. It's so difficult because students rarely seem to like a book that the whole class reads at the same time. (One of the reasons I am so glad I am retired)

I still haven't watched it. I need something to immerse myself in. Now may be a good time. Real life is too dismal right now. I am having a hard time reading.
Dustin Crazy little brown owl wrote: "Is Stranger Things available on DVD/ Netflix yet?"It's on netflix-not sure about dvd.

Me too Christine. I needed a major distraction and this helped. :)
Stranger Things is not only set in the 80's but it's influenced by the 80's so if you love that time period, I think you'll love the show.I'm pretty sure the Duffer brothers (they created the show) are King fans too. :D
I'm pretty ignorant about some of these things. "Stranger Things" is on Netflix right? Is there I way I can watch it on my TV?

I watch netflix on my laptop but i believe Christine mentioned that you can watch it on your tv if you have an internet connection.
