Thanks for the update, Karen! :)

I had to choose White Fire White Fire (Pendergast, #13) by Douglas Preston because I love Agent Pendergast.
I haven't read this book yet but have read books 3 & 4 in the series.
Hope you like it-look forward to hearing what you think of it :D

I think I'm going to read it in October-sounds like a good read for Halloween.

In the Koontzland - Dean Koontz Group, we are featuring all 5 Frankenstein Books, one each month. The character named Michael is in all 5 books so feel welcome to read as many Frankenstein books with us as you want :-)

Christine | 798 comments I finished Loyalty (Fina Ludlow, #1) by Ingrid Thoft I will definitely recommend this one. Its a bit gritty. Fina Ludlow is a badass, she gets as much as she gives and tends to be a bit beaten up for most of the novel. Her family is definitely dysfunctional. This line in the book made me so sad, "Every parent damages their child in some way. Why do you think there are so many shrinks in this town? You're deluded if you think otherwise" (p347). Kind of an interesting side note, the author actually went to school to be a private investigator and has a certificate for it from the University of Washington. She lives in Seattle even though the book is set in Boston.

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 46 comments I finished challenge #5 - a book about a dysfunctional family. I read this the first time in August and re-read it again so that I wouldn't be cheating on this challenge. I thought this book so well fit into the "dysfunctional family"

Brother by Ania Ahlborn

I wanted to do a separate review of this as a dysfunctional family but Goodreads wouldn't allow me and it would have made my original review too long. So I will summarize that part here.
The Morrow family is the family. The parents have their own dysfunctions. The dad served in Viet Nam and although it wasn't stressed a lot he was probably emotional scarred. He became inured to death. The mom was abused by her family and continues the pattern. The family "adopts" a child by stealing him and then the older brother abuses him emotionally. This family hunts women down, kills them, and yes, eats them. I don't want to give away too much but Mama hates her two daughters who look a lot like her when she was young.

Josh Barnett (joshyboy98311) | 366 comments I just finished A Walk To Remember. It was a reread for me but I think I like it a bit more than I did when I originally read it for the first time. Anyways, it fits the cancer challenge.

I look forward to reading The Graveyard Book. Its one I have been meaning to read for years. It will be the first one I start in October! =D (Its a halloween type of novel for sure.)

I don't think it matters but to watch it on your tv I think you need a separate device like the amazon firestick. I watch everything on my laptop :)

For Task #3 SMART, I have just read this book:

Baa Baa Smart Sheep by Mark Sommerset

Here is my review:
Wow! That was surprising. This book was recommended to me by my librarian friend. Baa Baa Smart Sheep is the twisted tale of a bad sheep and a Quirky Turkey

Jenn (darkstarcassidy) | 257 comments I lived Coven and Freak show was good, Hotel was ok but I'm not impressed with Roanoke yet. Idk if any of the states you peeps live in have a clown problem. I seen it on the news I think it started in NC. People are dressing up as clowns and scaring children in playgrounds 15 miles from my house and up north more they are trying to lure them into the woods with candy. More police patrols in these areas and residents are to be more aware of their surroundings.
