Are you trying to stick to the fantasy genre? The Man Who Used the Universe by Alan Dean Foster is SF, but what you're looking for.I agree with Phil on Zelazny, although most of his main characters are likable, if not paragons of morality. IIRC, Raistlan wasn't likable at all. It's been a long time since I read any of those books, though.
Perhaps some Joe Abercrombie? The first character that springs to mind for me is Glokta from his First Law trilogy. Book 1 The Blade Itself, but pretty much all of his characters seem to have that moral ambiguity going on.
