Keri | 74 comments I have been thinking a lot about this. First do you think it's true and if so, who do you think it will be? I don't think it will be Brianna, but maybe Willie, Jem, or Mandy. Second, when do you think this happens, in 1980s or in past? Has DG said anything about this?

message 2: by Lois (new)

Lois I'd completely forgotten about this! Gosh, Geillis and all her voodoo drama in Voyager seems like forever ago, ha! I've only read up to book six so far, so are there any other mentions of the prophecy in books seven and eight?

message 3: by Keri (new)

Keri | 74 comments There's a little more I think it's in IMHOB (8). Ugh the suspense for book 9 is killing me.

message 4: by Lois (new)

Lois I can imagine! I pretty much read books five and six back-to-back - exhausting, but worth it! I'll wait a month or two before diving into An Echo In The Bone, but I miss Claire, Jamie, Ian et al so much! I love all the speculation that comes with this series <3

message 5: by Keri (new)

Keri | 74 comments I read all the books in two months including the LJG books and the three novellas. I am going to pick up the OC tonight and I'm going to read them again. I think this time a little slower.

message 6: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 1124 comments its a pretty significant part of Written in My Own Heart's Blood

message 7: by Keri (new)

Keri | 74 comments Dee, while the letter from Frank makes some decisions for Brianna nothing is really reavealed that we didn't already know, except that some of the believers are crazy.

message 8: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 1124 comments You don't think those believers are crazy for a reason?

message 9: by Keri (new)

Keri | 74 comments Let me rephrase the believers are insane. The things that happened (regarding the philosophy) to Brianna and Roger are ridiculous. I'm not saying that I disagree with the writing. Some people are just insane and Diana did a good job of showing the lengths that people will go to to see that their own agenda succeeds.

message 10: by Keri (new)

Keri | 74 comments I'd really like to know what other people think about this. Do you think that DG will follow up on this? Clearly whomever it is will have to be in the future...post 1980's.

message 11: by Diane (new)

Diane | 1360 comments Since the series has not been finished I think the story would have to go beyond the present time since there has not been somebody from the Fraser line on the throne yet. I think DG will leave it ambiguous at the end showing the the line continues on.

message 12: by Shanah (new)

Shanah | 31 comments I had asked about this. I think in the 9th and final it will be brought to light. Keep an eye on Brianna's babes!

message 13: by Keri (new)

Keri | 74 comments I was thinking the same thing. Not Brianna but maybe Jem.

message 14: by Mrsbooks (new)

Mrsbooks | 399 comments What about William? Brianna is no more a Fraser (because she's married) than William who legally has another name. It makes more sense to me that perhaps William marries someone in the royal line.

message 15: by Keri (new)

Keri | 74 comments Perhaps. It could be one of his descendents, but so far we haven't seen any of his line in the future and we know Brianna and her family or at least her kids will probably go back.

message 16: by Lorinda (new)

Lorinda Cockrell (rindalovestoread) | 54 comments One thing that you have to remember about William (if you read book 8) He can hear the stones also. So it could come from his blood line as well.

message 17: by Mrsbooks (new)

Mrsbooks | 399 comments I can't recall that Brianna has done any research on William or his descendants. Has she? Now that I think about it, it's kind of weird that she didn't (If she didn't). I totally would have.

message 18: by Keri (new)

Keri | 74 comments No she didn't, but her hands were a bit full with sick baby then crazy people kidnapping her other kid. Although it would be interesting to find out about William's line.

message 19: by Mrsbooks (new)

Mrsbooks | 399 comments Weren't they there for a few years?

message 20: by Keri (new)

Keri | 74 comments They were, but she didn't know anything about the prophecy until right before she went back. so she wouldn't have had any time to look.

message 21: by Mrsbooks (new)

Mrsbooks | 399 comments I'm not actually thinking about the prophecy but about William in general. I can't imagine being in her shoes and not looking up what happened to him, his history, his descendants. I'd be so curious, especially believing I was never going back. After all, she did it with Jamie and Claire, tried to follow their history and that's why she went back in time in the first place.

message 22: by Shanah (new)

Shanah | 31 comments Mrsbooks wrote: "What about William? Brianna is no more a Fraser (because she's married) than William who legally has another name. It makes more sense to me that perhaps William marries someone in the royal line."

The problem with this is that the father is not biological but who is married to the mother; just as Hamish may be Dugals biological son, Colin is his father and for that matter the baby that Geilis has is not Dugals (although again he is biological) but that of the fiscal, what was his name. Colum makes a big point of this when he finds out that Geilis is pregnant.

message 23: by Keri (new)

Keri | 74 comments Well do we know for sure that it will be Jamie's descendants? couldn't it be any of Jenny's kids?

message 24: by Shanah (new)

Shanah | 31 comments Think about this: Roger is a Mckenzie and takes the name back. Brianna is also a Mckenzie directly as the grandmother she never knew (Ellen). Which leads to one conclusion: Jem and Mandy are both Mckenzie AND Frasier. Just like Jamie. The prophecy is that Lord Lovats bloodline will take the throne. It doesn't specify when however and it was believed that line terminated around the 1800's. The problem is they were chased into the current day.

message 25: by Keri (new)

Keri | 74 comments We know that Claire and Brianna know about the prophecy. but does Jaime know? I don't recall Claire ever telling him.

message 26: by Diane (new)

Diane | 1360 comments The prophecy was for the blood line not necessarily the name.

message 27: by MichaelCollins (new)

MichaelCollins | 819 comments Maybe how the story continues AFTER Book 9. Which book do we come across the Prophecy again? (view spoiler)
