Chapters 1-3 (view spoiler)[ I'm really liking this so far! My favorite point of view so far is Arsinoe's because I love everyone else in her world, especially Jules and Camden, I'm still a little confused but I'm sure it will be cleared up as I read more. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 4-6 (view spoiler)[ By now I have read two chapters from each queen's perspective. My favorite character is still Jules, even though she isn't one of the queens. Katharine and Arsinoe had interesting chapters, while I still felt that Mirabella's was a little boring. I'm interested to see what happens with Katharine and Pietyr, and his idea with having the suitors fall in love. I'm still confused on how the sisters kill each other, and I'm getting very curious. Arsinoe's section is boring me because it's all about Jules and Joseph, and I want some more action there. Katharine's perspective is getting more interesting, with her and Pietyr falling in love. I'm excited to see what happens there. I have a feeling that at the end the sisters won't be able to kill each other. (hide spoiler)]

But I am really liking Arsinoe at the moment she seems to really have a more down to earth thinking of all the triplets so far. I find t strange that Mirabella is being pushed by the temple and that they all even though they aren't supposed to are all over with her for the most part. And I thought Mirabella would of be the "villain" of the three sisters because she is the only one who has a strong gift, and the priestesses (whatever there roll is) favor her. But after reading her chapter I don't really think that is the case. She doesn't even like to be called "my queen". But I guess we'll see :).

Mirabella: I really like her, right now she is my favorite of the three queens. She seems to have the strictest life because she already has strong powers and needs to fulfill everybody's expectations.

Mirabella: Still my favorite of the three queens. The way she feels for her sisters ad doesn't want to kill them is heartbreaking. When she was running away I wanted to tell her 'You go girl!'.
Also She and Joseph? That seems a bit odd. Maybe it has something to do with the spell Arsinoe wanted to cast on him and Jules, where she threw the talisman into the fire?
The meeting between her and Arsinoe was not what I expected, although they didn't really have a lot of time to talk before they were surrounded.

Blegh I really hated Joseph. How could he do that to Jules.. She deserves better. Jules and Billy are 2 of the few characters I really liked. They were such good friends to Arsinoe. But omg Arsinoe is the poisoner! I kind of suspected in the beginning that they switched Katherine and Arsinoe up because that would explain why they didn’t have the gift. And that Katherine was the naturalist because of her feelings toward the snake. I thought maybe that was her familiar. But after that snake died and she didn’t notice the difference with her new snake I didn’t give that theory a second thought. But now it’s finally getting interesting! Still this book was very slow en felt more like prequel. Maybe the next book is what I expected this book to be. (hide spoiler)]

Katharine: She was able to eat the whole food at the Gave Noir because it was not poisoned and showed her 'power' to the priestesses. WTF Pietyr! Why did he throw her into the pit of the Breccia Domain right after he said he loved her?

Arsinoe: Her escape failed and she was found and almost executed. She is back at the ceremony.
Their plan was to use low magic and Jules's gift to show Arsinoe's 'power' and her 'familiar' the bear which worked at the beginning.

Mirabella: When Mirabella shows her gift, joseph is enthralled, making jules lose power over the bear. Then things go awry.
I can't help myself I want Mirabella and Joseph to get together. Even if it is just the low magic.

Katharine: So she survived and now she wants revenge and the crown.

Arsinoe: After the shw she has the respect of the people but she is the poisoner, now it all makes sense.

Mirabella: I liked the fact that she didn't want to kill her sisters, but now with everything gone wrong Mirabella will do anything to get the crow it seems.

All in all I really enjoyed this book, but I think it promised something it did't deliver: The Queens weren't trying to kill each other until the end. And even then it wasn't them alone, they had the help of others...I hope the next books gives us more of the assassination attempts and more about how the queens handle them as they are still sisters.

(view spoiler)[ I feel like all of these girls are going to be severely damaged. I mean I get that their supporters want them to be the strongest, but having to consume a ton of poison seems nuts. And the way people treated Katharine because she was affected by the poison was really sad, and I think I hate them all.

Mirabella at first seemed like she would be my least favorite, but I think I actually like her the most. Her followers, the priestesses, also seem the most hardcore, but she seems like she really has a conscience. I think it's interesting that the poisoners have been in control so long when it clearly seems like elementals would be the most powerful. I don't really think Arsinoe has a real shot. I hope some type of sisterly love triumphs over them having to kill each other though (wishful thinking). (hide spoiler)]

I feel like Jules is more special than she seems so far because there's so much focus on her and Joseph, and they're definitely my favorite romance so far. I think it was pretty strange that Katharine didn't recognize that the new snake wasn't Sweetheart. I feel like Familiars are more bonded, so she would know 1) that Sweetheart died and 2) that this wasn't Sweetheart.
