Philosophical speculative fiction contest

I ran across a post about this contest over at another GR group. It's for a 1000-7500 word story of speculative fiction that should include an additional 500-word discussion of the philosophical concepts examined in the story. The deadline is Feb 1, 2017. The winner gets $500 and publication in the "Sci Phi Journal". Sounds like fun, especially to me as I like to blather on about the subtext of my stories.

I've subbed before to Sci Phi. I suggest reading some of the posted fiction on the site before subbing (I actually had not done so), as they seem to have a particular style that they're looking for.
