Morgan | 802 comments Awesome XD! Love Sukie Waterhouse!

Alright so in this world should werewolves be like a norm, or more of a secret society or what? Also how should shifts go - like should they be able to control themselves on full moon or do they go full out wolf?

With Derrick I'm also thinking he's not a fan of being mated just because of his parents relationship, and he's sort of given up hope after such a long wait. That being said he's sort of mentally a child too, like completely put together and stuff in class, but a bit of a partier too- though he doesn't really touch alcohol cause the stuff just makes him temperamental.

message 11: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Me too haha, she's gorgeous.

Hmmm, I think it should be more of a secret thing, or at least something believed to be a myth on the conscious level. As for their shifting, up to you.

Alright awesome. I'm thinking the twins are pretty much always together and they're both basically artists (her writing and him drawing/painting), so they're not exactly model students. Partiers, very open minded, probably do touch their fair share of alcohol and other things but are careful to watch each other when they do so.

message 12: by Morgan (last edited Aug 29, 2016 02:29PM) (new)

Morgan | 802 comments Okay secret is good ^^ and shifting haha both would be interesting. Maybe there is a sort of shift at full moon, but after a few years with a built tolerance and more control they're able to purely stay in their human form?

Sounds good. Also what should the mate thing be- like an instant noticeable thing with eye contact, or touch, or something else >.>?

message 13: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 802 comments For Derrick I'm also thinking he'll be a transfer teacher as well ^^

Morgan | 802 comments Not sure XD

message 18: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Haha, well, a party or something?

message 19: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 802 comments A party would work ^^ prob one off campus just cause he's a teacher or what not lol.
Can you start us off?

message 20: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Off-campus partied were always so much better than those on because there was more booze, more noise, and more people. Not to mention the fact that the crowd wasn't entirely made up of students, who could be quite boring and careful. Thus, the second Ava and Jay got word of the party, they dropped everything and got ready.
Jay picked out a little red dress for his sister, and Ava picked a tight pair of jeans for her brother. Were they too close? Most definitely. Did they care? Not in the slightest. They were happy living together in their tiny two bedroom apartment and no one really cared enough to comment on the fact that they were always together. They had friends, of course, but they were friends that they spent time with together. They simply just never got tired of each other and rarely fought. It was like being in the perfect, sexless marriage. They even had matching cars, though different colors, hers white and his black, because the basically liked all of the same things.
Tonight though, they both rode in a cab since they planned on getting properly smashed. When they arrived, they walked in next to each other, laughing over some shared joke about the cab driver that neither of them had even really said aloud. Once inside they walked over to the drink table and ordered each other's drinks, as was their customary game. Soon though, they were back to back, talking to different people about different things.

Morgan | 802 comments With school starting in just two days Derrrick had plenty of reason to destress, and the best way of doing so was to just let loose and party. Having only arrived at the campus a few weeks before it didn't really take long for him to find out where all the most popular places were. Generally he would go to clubs, but he found house parties to be a bit more intimate, though really how much more intimate could you get then having people grind against you on a dance floor? As he pulled up to the place he parked his bike outside before removing his helmet and brushing his hair from his face. This place was a good thirty minutes from campus, but he still knew there were likely to be some faces here that would show up in his classes later on. But he wasn't self-conscious about it. Besides, teachers were allowed to have fun and nobody here would know his face just yet, and the majority of people here didn't even look college-aged. Slipping his keys into his leather jacket he walked up to the house with a steady gait before entering the door that was already perched open as people flowed inside and out of the house. Immediately Derrick found himself sorrounded by a mass of bodies. It was only after walking by the stairs that his eyes zoned onto the keg that was in the backyard. Making his way through a crowd of people he reached the sliding glass door before slipping outside, surprised to find there weren't too many people there he reached for a water bottle that was just so conveniently placed in the cooler besides the kegger.

message 22: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Ava rolled her eyes as some girl accused her of sleeping with her boyfriend. She might have at some point, but she didn't even know who this girl's boyfriend was. However, she was more than willing to fight about it if the girl wanted a fight. Ava loved a good fight, particularly one in which to got to ruin a pretty girl's face for a couple weeks. "Well maybe if you were better in bed then he wouldn't be off with other girls," she replied in an off-hand manner, a smirk on her lips.
Before the fight could get any further, Jay took a hold of his sister's arm and lead her easily out of the room and toward the back yard. "Do you always have to do that?" he asked his sister with a soft sigh. "Not everything has to be a fist fight. Maybe next time just apologize and walk away." Even as he said this though, a smile was spreading on his lips because it as just so ridiculous. His sister was a hot head and she would use any excuse to get under people's skins. If they came up to her, it was all the better in her mind.
Thankfully, there were very few people outside and the girl didn't seem to be following them to continue the fight. Jay would give Ava a chance to cool down and then maybe they'd go back in with the hard alcohol. For now there, there was a no line for the keg and they headed in that direction.

message 23: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 802 comments Derrick already knew his drink of choice wasn't widely popular as he twisted off the cap and took a quick chug of water. With that he wiped his mouth before looking back at the house. Well- mind as well go back in there and mingle. After all a majority of people who were outside were only interested in the pool or smoking joints and cigarettes. Since he had no intentions of swimming or welcoming nicotine into his life it appeared his best option was to find someone inside. Back home he knew plenty of people back in the party scene and he soon realized that he'd have to make a good deal of awkward small talk with someone before he actually got to know a decent person. Wavering a bit he instinctively reached for the tap on the keg before pouring himself a drink. Surely a bit of liquid courage would get this night moving along. Just as he was pouring himself a drink he sensed two people behind him. With a red solo cup in hand he turned around with a wide smile, "Ah, a cup for the beautiful lady." He said, seeing this as a perfect opportunity to start off on his journey of finding someone to talk to. "And..." He paused for a moment before filling up another cup making sure that the top didn't foam all too much before he held it out, "Another one for the handsome gentleman, unless of course you two prefer juice pouches in which case you'll have to ask the host." He said with a shrug of his shoulders- not bothering to fill another cup for himself. After all it was probably in his best interest to stick to water, especially since this was his first party in the area and he didn't want to make too much of a bad impression on anyone here. A moment of silence seemed to pass before he side stepped around them, "Well, enjoy the cheap beer, and remember it's on the house." Derrick told them with wink before nodding his head and making his way inside. He didn't bother to scold himself on the wink. No doubt it could've come off a bit weird. Especially if the two were a couple but he wouldn't overthink it. He had the whole night to embarrass himself anyways.

message 24: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Ava giggled as she was handed a cup of beer, which she took a sip of, and then looked to her brother as if trying to get his opinion on the situation without actually asking. Jay looked back to his sister and raised his eyebrows in response before thanking the man for the both of them.
As he started to walk away, Ava put a hand on her hip. "He's cute and funny," she said, talking to her brother but making sure that it was loud enough for the older, very handsome, man to hear even as he was leaving them behind.
"Oh, agreed," Jay replied, not bothering to conceal the fact that he was looking the man over. He was definitely at least ten years older, but that was only obvious in his manner. He wouldn't mind getting a taste of an older man.
The two of them often agreed when it came to people that they found attractive, and that was what lead to some of their only fights. They tended to go after the same people or even, on occasion, steal each other's lovers. However, it was also kind of a game between them, to see who could get the object of their affections sooner. Usually just into bed for a night, or maybe a few nights, though they rarely ever dated. They knew that it was useless to date when they were to find mates at some point. Better not to waste their time on something serious that would mean nothing.

message 25: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 802 comments Just as he slid open the door he heard their loud words and he laughed softly before shaking his head a bit. For a moment he peered back over his shoulder his eyes breifly meeting with the other man's. His whole body tensed as a strange jolt seemed to travel through his system. Only a few seconds passed before his gaze traveled back towards the inside of the hose. He shook it off to ensure himself that his limbs were still working. Well, that was a bit strange to say the least, but Derrick didn't pause to think over it's implications. It was probably nothing. Nothing at all- he thought, trying to convince himself of anything besides the only conclusion he could draw up. It was impossible anyways. Humming softly he made his way through the crowd before finding a safe spot near the bottom of the stairwell. In order to distract himself from the dangerous territory in his mind he threw himself into a conversation with two girls who looked to be a little too young to be handling liquor. As long as they were safe though who was he to judge. Unfortunately for him, though, the two were absolute light-weights and started gossiping about who was with who and what Angelina did with Mariana's boyfriend last weekend. It was a bit much for him, but he added a comment here or there before removing his jacket as he was beginning to feel a little overheated.

message 26: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Jay felt like a jolt of electricity had gone through his body as his eyes met that of the other man's. It wasn't necessarily a bad shock, but it was incredibly strange and he had to shake his head in order to get his thoughts back in working order.
"Did you feel that?" he asked his sister, wondering if they had walked into some sort of momentary electrical field. When it became obvious that Ava had no idea what was he was talking about he let out a soft sigh. "It felt like a bolt of lightning just went through me. It was so weird. I met that guy's eyes and then," he shivered lightly, because just thinking about it brought on a new tingle.
"Wait," Ava turned and put her hands on his arm so that she could meet his eyes. "You don't think..." She shook her head before even finishing the thought. No, that was silly. It would be much more than a silly shock, right? Sure. "Nevermind," she said with a soft smile up at him, "That was dumb."
"Yeah," Jay agreed, "I'm sure it wasn't that. Lets just go inside where they have something other than crappy beer." He tossed his cup, because he actually didn't feel much like drinking at all and then took his sister's arm to lead her back inside.
Ava followed along after him trying not to be too concerned about what he had felt, and knowing that he was trying not to be too concerned either.
They eventually wandered deeper into the party, chatting here and there and forgetting about the strange incident. Nothing too interesting was happening and neither of them was getting drunk, so they probably wouldn't stay much longer. In fact, they were already getting closer to the door. They could hit a club or something.

message 27: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 802 comments "So you're telling me that Angelica did the dirty deed with both of their boyfriends? After all those years of friendship?" Derrick asked the two, in absolute fake horror. He had no idea who these people were and he was worried he'd be stuck in this conversation all night if he didn't excuse himself soon. At first it had been enough to distract him from what had just occurred outside, but now their need to repeat themselves over and over again and divulge any and all information on others in their lives was getting tiresome. He had to wonder how the two could even stand to be around each other in such a condition. What the hell were they like when sober? Probably attentive little college freshman who were just using these days before school to establish a new name for themselves away from their hometowns. "Alright sweethearts, I've got to go to the bathroom, so if you don't mind." He said, awkwardly shuffling a few steps away before his stride grew longer. This whole thing seemed to be a bust. It was just loud music, a horrible socialization setting and absolutely no dancing. What was a party with no dancing?

message 28: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Right before they reached the door, Ava slipped away from her brother and went straight toward the DJ. She climbed over onto his lap and whispered a few words to him that caused him to immediately change the tempo of the music. She then hopped up and ran right back over to her brother, whom she dragged into the middle of the floor. She didn't plan to drag on him, but she wasn't afraid to get the dancing started. She didn't want to go home just yet and dancing was the best way to liven up a boring party.
Jay laughed, but allowed himself to be pulled along to the dance floor. Ava always got her way in the end anyway so there was no use resisting. Soon enough she was pulling other people, guys and girls, in to dance with them. It still wasn't perfect, but it was getting better. People were starting to join the dance floor on their own and some serious grinding had commenced.
"You know, if you just wanted to grind on everybody we could have go to a club downtown," Jay laughed at his sister, who promptly punched him in the chest.
"Clubs don't have free booze!" Ava replied brightly before pulling a random guy into a dance with her.

message 29: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 802 comments Instead of making a break for the bathroom he was planning on a smooth and quiet exit. Derrick hadn't really talked to anybody here which was something he'd regret later, but for now he was sure the night could be salvaged with a friend or two. Alas, just as he reached the door he heard the sudden change of music. It went from a practically melancholy tune to something more upbeat and lively. A bit like club music it was certainly a song to dance too. Of course it didn't help much that nobody was doing that. Shrugging his shoulders he took a few steps closer to the door, which was made into a more so difficult process when others began to stream through the door. Hearing a commotion behind him he turned on his heels to catch the sight of those two from earlier dancing with a crowd of people. With his sharp sense of hearing he was easily able to pick up what they were saying and he couldn't help but to chuckle at the girls response despite himself. Free booze could certainly be a perk for lots of people. Especially when the place just down the street charged 10 dollars for a simple beer. At that rate one might as well buy their own eight pack and call it a day. Seeing this new turn of events as a way to loosen up and talk to maybe even make attempts at talking to others he found himself moving towards the ever growing number of people that were now on what was dubbed the dance floor, which was also a fairly large living room. Derrick skipped right over awkwardness as he let the thrum of the music speak to him and he fell into rhythm with other dancers.

message 30: by Isis (last edited Aug 29, 2016 11:42PM) (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Soon enough both of the twins were dancing with random strangers, grinding and swaying and twirling and everything in between. They managed to stay fairly close though, and at the center of the mass of bodies. Neither of them really knew who they were dancing with, or cared. No one was interesting enough to catch their attention. At least, there was no one interesting enough until Ava spotted the man from earlier, the handsome older one.
She was unable to help herself. She wasn't going to let her brother's possible mate slip away, no matter how slim the chance the possibility. "Hey there handsome," she purred as she made her way toward him, swerving through the see of people and narrowly missing her brother's grasping hand trying to pull her back. "Have you met me my brother?" she asked as she got up closer to him. She point in the direction of her brother, "His name is Jay, come on," she said, reaching out and taking his hand to drag him over in the right direction.

message 31: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 802 comments Derrick was enjoying a particularly colorful dance with a faceless stranger, until he was pulled away from the thoughtless act by the younger women from earlier. "Hey there gorgeous," he responded easily as he heard her voice over the loud speakers. He didn't manage to meet her eyes though as his hands remained on the pair of hips in front of him. Figuring she'd go off to dance with someone else he turned his attention back to his partner. That didn't last for long though as the blond continued speaking before grabbing his hand. Derrick had to fight the urge to snap his hand out of her grasp, but something about her compelled him to follow her even if his initial reaction wasn't to. Admittedly he was a bit confused on who her brother could be until he spotted the guy with tattoos from earlier as well. Ah, so they were related. "So your brother's name is Jay, what's yours?" He asked hoping that would halt her actions for a moment as he directed his focus downwards in an attempt to avoid any and all eye contact with her said brother. Things were beginning to become a little too clear for him and he didn't want to test out his suspicions only to get an answer he wouldn't appreciate.

message 32: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Ava rolled her eyes at his attempt to distract, but she decided to humor him for a moment since Jay was glaring at her like she had cut off his foot. She turned her gaze up to his face, even though he was obviously looking away so as not to meet Jay's gaze. Proof then, that he had felt that same strange shock. This was incredible news and only strengthened her suspicions. Her brother was going to get his mate. She was a little jealous of course, but mostly she was happy for him. They were still young and of course dreamed of finding their mates and bonding to someone other than each other. In any case, that was something to consider at a later time.
"I'm Ava. Now, are you going to come meet my brother or are you going to stand there like a pussy?" she replied, putting a hand on her hip, moving her face so that he would be forced to meet her eyes and face up to the decision.

message 33: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 802 comments "Like a pussy?" Derrick asked in disbelief shaking his head. This had to be a joke. "Are you trying to set me up with your brother?" He asked with a partial smile before he was suddenly looking into her eyes. Instantaneously he noticed they were the same color as her brothers, brown with little flecks of gold that would've been missed by anyone else. In the time their eyes met, though, he felt a similar feeling from earlier, but before it could overwhelm him and immobilize him as it did before he quickly looked back over and towards Jay, though he was careful to look at the wall and not directly at him. "Fine, fine." He said with a nod of his head as he figured this Ava girl wouldn't let up if he didn't go along with her. He dropped her hand suddenly before continuing towards Jay. He could just as easily leave and forget anything ever happened. But he had to make it clear he didn't want this. Not a mate or anything else. It just wasn't him. Sure he could commit, that's not what scared him- he just didn't want this. He had when he was young and niave but now he was sure it was the last thing he needed in his life.

message 34: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Ava shook her head and frowned when she felt a weird tingle run through her body when their eyes met. She ignored it though, not giving it a single thought as she continued to lead him over toward her brother. "Of course I'm trying to set you up with him. You're hot. You can't expect to show up to a party and not have at least two people want you. Now, usually I'd fight him for you, but I've decided to be the nice twin tonight and let him take his shot," she told him before slipping up next to her brother and taking his arm. "Jay, this is..." she looked at the man expectantly, hand on her hip.
"Ava, stop," Jay said, taking his arm from her and giving her a disapproving smile, trying his best to avoid eye contact with the other man. "Hey, I'm sorry about her. She's apparently had too much to drink," he said, which was cause for a punch to be thrown into his stomach, and not a light one either, along with a glare.
"Don't apologize for me when I'm not sorry, and I've had almost nothing to drink so," she held up her middle finger toward him and then looked back at the man of interest.
Jay rolled his eyes and let out a sigh. "I'm sorry then. I'm not interested. Misunderstanding."

message 35: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 802 comments When they reached what was now apparently Ava's twin his eyes dipped down for a moment. It was then that he realized Jay was also avoiding eye contact just as he'd been doing. He bit his lower lip to keep himself from laughing at the irony of it all. Maybe these two weren't even like him. Werewolves. Maybe they were silly little humans who were unable to understand what the connection meant. That would simplify this entire issue. Besides he'd felt the spark with both of them- it was rare for that to occur but not entirely uncommon. Despite his pre-game plan to end it all there somehow he was the one who ended up feeling a bit rejected, a feeling he could certainly tell you he wasn't accustomed to. "Alright, sorry to waste your time, and get you two into that little fight," he replied with a small hand gesture. Confident that was the end he watched the two for a moment before nodding his head. It was only as he turned on his heels to leave that he felt a dull pain in his chest. Rubbing below his collarbone he coughed slightly before stumbling forward a bit till he regained his footing. After that little episode he was fine. Thinking he needed some fresh air and a clear head he zig-zagged through people until reaching the front door and allowing himself a sigh of relief as his feet hit the front porch.

message 36: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments As he walked away, Ava and Jay both brought a hand up to rub a small, but painful, prick of a headache. It was odd, because it seemed to come as the man turned to walk away, and stumbled. It was all very strange and immediately the two started to walk in the opposite direction that the other man walked.
They stepped outside and Ava leaned against the wall while Jay paced and rubbed a his temples. "You should have just let him go, Ava," he scolded her, "He's obviously not my freaking mate. This is ridiculous. I don't even think that that's what it's supposed to feel like. You don't even know that that guy likes guys. This is humiliating, and now I have a damn headache." He was frustrated, because he was almost certain that he was lying to himself at this point, but didn't want to admit it.
Ava whimpered softly and let her lower lip fall into a pout. "I think I felt it too though," she admitted, "I'm sure I was imagining it, but it was weird. We should just go. I don't want to chance running into that guy again. I'm sorry." She captured him in a hug and squeezed for a moment before they both started around the side of the house while Ava searched her purse for some advil or something. She had a headache too. Sometimes she could swear that twin telepathy was real.

message 37: by Morgan (new)

Morgan | 802 comments Derrick recollected himself on the porch as he held onto the railing with both hands while rocking back on his heels. Already he was contemplating what to do next. Forget about it entirely? Confront the situation? A part of him was internally screaming not to let them walk away- after all they were mates and every atom of his being was practically yearning to be near them now that he'd seen them. Still his far more stubborn and developed nature kept him rooted there on the porch. Fortunately the decision was made for him. Being a horrible eavesdropper he'd already been tuned into the twins conversation where it was clarified that they had some idea of what was going on, but otherwise didn't want to see him again. Rolling his shoulders back he relaxed a bit before watching a couple nearby. Seeing an abandoned bottle of Jack near them he strolled over before grabbing it by the neck and taking a few swigs. His throat burned a little but he welcomed the sensation. Standing there only for a few seconds more Derrick soon made his way off the porch and back towards his bike where he slid on his helmet once more as he was already beginning to question where the night would possibly take him now.

message 38: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Ava whimpered softly and leaned her head on her brother's shoulder. "He's our mate. I can feel him. It's..." she trailed off because she didn't know how to describe it. It was like she was being ripped in half. One part of her wanted to run, the logical human part. The other part, her desperate wolf, writhed in the pain of the idea of never seein him again and demanded that she go after him.

"Stop. He's not," Jay gritted his teeth, probably a little to harsh with his tone for the situation. He knew he was lying, but the guy obviously didn't have interest and Jay wasn't sure he was ready for this. It was nothing like he had imagined. They would be better off without him, he told himself. His wolf, however, told him that that was bullshit and he should be at the man's feet, begging him to consider their mating to be real.

"Ok," Ava whimpered again, so unlike her usual fiery self. "Let's just go home and get drunk. I don't want to be here anymore." She took out her phone and called for a cab, which was to be there in ten minutes. She felt so confused, and she could tell that her brother felt the same, which made her heart ache for him.

Jay gently ran his hand over the back of her head and then gripped the back of her neck lightly. "Don't worry. We're gonna be just fine," he lied.

Before the twins reached the front of the house Derrick was peeling out of the driveway. Being a little careless he'd forgotten to look out who was coming down the driveway which caused him to swerve sideways as a bright yellow jeep pulled up in front of him. Gritting his teeth he also decided in that moment to put on his helmet. After all he couldn't risk his safety despite everything that happened. Breifly in that moment he paused he had to wonder if the two were from around here. Maybe that meant they were regulars to these so called parties. In which case he would certainly have to avoid them. Maybe that was for the best - besides the club could provide a bit of fun. Feeling his phone buzz on his pocket he was reminded of his friends who were probably getting their own party on down at the club Polarized. As he revved up his engine to continue down the road he considered joining them. It wouldn't be so bad. He could let loose- as soon as the idea entered his mind he had a hard time letting it go.
It was maybe one, two, three hours later that he found himself lying down on a field of grass at the park beside the college. His place was about a mile walk from here and he'd drunkenly decided to leave his bike parked on the street and get some fresh air to clear his head. The plan hadn't worked so well as he'd somehow ended up here gazing up at the stars. It was so much different here then where he had been raised. Back there there'd been plenty of light pollution from the city and there wouldn't be a single twinkling light in the sky. Here there were millions. "Such beauty," Derrick cried out, his arms extended upwards before they collapsed back down by his sides as he let out a content sigh. Unwisely he reached for his flask that he'd filled up with some form of alcohol and he took a swig.

message 42: by Isis (new)

Isis | 5021 comments Jay and Ava had gone home to begin with, quickly got bored and tired of listening to their own thoughts, then decided to gather all the alcohol in their cabinets and drive down to the park. They had their own little spot down a trail in the back. It was a nice little grove of trees that they had managed to hide. They specifically kept from going their too often, or too drunk, so that no one would find this particular spot and steal it, but tonight they were too unstable to think properly.
Within an hour they were drunk, after two they were entirely blitzed. Ava couldn't stop giggling, particularly when Jay shushed her, which made him giggle. They were stumbling when they tried to walk. Several times Ava had picked up a rock and throw it at a tree she thought was someone watching them. Jay had tripped and smashed one bottle when his knee came down on it, but barely noticed the little shards of glass that pricked through his jeans because he had been too busy roaring laughter with his sister. Injury, after all, only got more funny when drunk.
After a while though, they were starting to calm down when Ava got hit with a bright idea. "Oh oh, let's go get some of those, um, what do you call thems?" She frowned in confusion as she looks to her brother for help. "You know, the jumping ones in the lake. We used to get them when we were kids. Not lizards."
"Frogs?" Jay laughed at her before linking his arm with hers as she nodded. "Fine, lets go hunt some frogs."
Ava squealed, much too happy, and soon she was pulling him along faster and faster until they were practically in a run. Of course though, one should never run while intoxicated and soon she went tripping over a rocking. She let out a screech and landed on her bottom, only to have Jay then trip over her and fall on his stomach, legs on top of her lap.
They burst into loud laughter, neither of them sober enough to stand up right away.

Morgan | 802 comments "What?" Derrick muttered to himself as he heard voices far off towards the opposite end of the park where the trail and lake were. He rubbed his eyes a bit, finding they had somehow shut closed during his stargazing. Slowly he sat up before noticing his flask on the ground that had fallen on its side, and was now empty- it's contents spilled over the grass. Shrugging he screwed the top back on slowly, cursing a bit as the top continued to flip from his fingers before he finally got it. Happy with his achievement he got to his feet and brushed himself off so he wouldn't be at risk of actually falling asleep here and being found by some campus cop later. That would be a horrible impression to make before his first day of teaching. Derrick could only consider himself lucky in the fact that he had at least twenty four hours to sober up from this. He stumbled around for a few seconds before he finally regained his footing. Seeing the lights up ahead he returned to the illuminated trailer humming softly to himself as his arms swung at his side. Eventually he found the voices getting louder which must've meant he was getting closer towards the opposite end of the park. Derrick hoped that meant also closer to campus and not that he was lost. That certainly wouldn't help him in this state. Glancing back over his shoulder he squinted a bit, realizing he couldn't even see his bike from here. He groaned softly before letting it go. He'd find his way back soon enough. He had a great sense of direction anyways... even if he wasn't exactly in his right mind. Mid-stride he suddenly paused. There was a familiar ring to those voices, but the soon were replaced by a numerous number of thumps followed by laughter. Uncertainly he continued forwards before turning the trail and spotting the two. Really if he was anywhere in his right mind he would've turned around right there and redirected himself back the way he came. Instead he figured it was best to ask for a little bit of guidance. "Fancy meeting you here." Derrick said, his words a bit slurred as he leaned against a tree beside him for support. "Do you have any idea which path leads back to campus?" He asked them, taking a longer time then needed to concentrate on his words as his eyes flitted back and forth between their two sprawled forms. Would they even be much help here?

Isis | 5021 comments "The one up your ass, mister!" Ava answered without looking at the man, and then burst into laughter, as did Jay. It wasn't a particularly amusing or witty joke, but the word ass was oh so funny for a couple of drunk college students.
However, when they turned their gaze onto the man both of their laughters ceased. Even as drunk as they were they recognized him, and it explained the weird feeling they had both had deep down in their guts.
Jay took the moment to slide himself off of Ava's lap. He sat on his knees next to Ava, who was in the same position. They both gazed up at the man, eyes wide and confused. They were too drunk to do much of anything except act like scared children. Ava even managed to get drunken fear hiccups.
It really was a sight, to say the least. Two drunken idiots staring up at a third. All of them yearning to be with each other in the worst of ways but all denying it. Except, it was much harder to deny anything when one was drunk.
"I wanna touch his butt," Ava whispered very quietly, unable to keep the words from slipping out, even though they weren't even the correct words. She had meant face, she was sure.
Jay couldn't help himself and burst into laughter so hard that tears were streaming down his cheeks.
Ava looked panicked for a moment but then she burst into giggle as well. She could never keep from laughing when Jay laughed.

Morgan | 802 comments Derrick crossed his arms over his chest as he heard her response. An eyebrow rose in amusement as he could only figure she didn't know who she was speaking to. That was made clear though when the two finally looked up at him and sat there as if though in fear. That wasn't expected. Something in him wanted to jump forward and comfort them. The feeling didn't last for long though as Ava spoke once more. This time he couldn't help but to laugh a bit. "Is that so?" These two were obviously the bubbly sort of drunks that laughed about anything and everything. On the completely different end of the scale from where he was temperamental and a bit more moody while also managing to keep that whole disorientated feeling. "Here," Without giving himself a chance to think he walked towards the ditch they were in, almost losing his own footing but safely managing to get down. "Let's get you two home, because clearly you aren't in your right minds right now." Which was saying a lot coming from a drunken professor who could barely manage his own words. At the same time Derrick told himself he was acting like the responsible adult here and not a protective mate. "Unless of course you think the way back to your place is also up my ass as well, because then we might be horribly lost."

Isis | 5021 comments "Hey hey, we're fine," Jay told the guy when he was finally able to stop laughing. "Just drunk. You're drunk too. I can smell it." He crossed his arms defensively across his chest, which Ava giggled over and then did the same.
"You're not in charge just because you're the oldest mate....man," Ava hickupped, trying to glare but failing and giggling instead. To her dismay though, Jay reached over and put a hand over her mouth. He never let her talk when she was drunk. She didn't blame him, and generally just let him make those decisions. She knew she wasn't a responsible drunk. She was a giggly mess with a big mouth and noodle legs
Jay may not be far from where Ava was in drunkenness, but he was a little better off. At least he could remember which words to use, even if it took some time for him to get them out. Plus, he was just used to being in charge. Ava had a big personality, but she knew she wasn't a leader. A pusher maybe, but not a leader when it came to serious matters.
"The school is over that, um, that way," Jay pointed to the path that he was certain went back toward school. Even drunk he had an excellent sense of direction, and didn't feel the need to address the rear end like his sister did.

Morgan | 802 comments "Yeah I might have had a little to drink," Derrick said leaning forwards on the balls of his feet as he held his pointer finger a little way from his thumb as to express just how much he'd had. "But at least I've still got my head on straight." Sort of.
What Ava said next had him rocking back on his heels. Sure they maybe all knew they were mates but it was unspoken between them. While he wanted to pretend she was insane for even assuming such a thing his pause in the matter revealed he wasn't so innocent. That and his inner wolf practically mewled at the word, all too eager to accept such a claim.
For a moment he watched her as she giggled with abandon before her brother put a sudden stop for it. "Listen here monkey see monkey do," Derrick said, referencing her mimicking her brother earlier, "I'm not in charge of you two no matter the circumstances, but what would it say about me if I left you two out here alone in such a state?" His voice softened a bit as his body acted off instinct and he reached forwards to lightly brush a strand of hair behind her ear. His hand lingered there as his thumb lightly brushed against her temple. "Besides doesn't a nice warm bed sound much better then traipsing around the woods at such an ungodly hour?" Derrick asked, momentarily ignoring Jay's directions but saving them in the back of his head. His arm fell back to his side for a moment as he felt a bit of anger internally coming his way. What if they didn't listen and decided to stay here? To hell with it, he'd leave them and maybe they'd end up passed out drunk somewhere. The idea didn't sit well with him, but who was he to care?

Isis | 5021 comments Jay managed an eye roll at his monkey comment, but Ava was too busy entirely melting as his fingers slid so gently behind her ear. Even if she hadn't been drunk she would have been at a loss for words. His touch was like a soft electric current. The touch to her temple she could practically feel in her toes. She wanted to tell him that they didn't need his help, but her whole behind screamed that they did, just so they could be close to him.
Thankfully, Jay had her covered in the denial portion of their current predicament. "We happen to like the woods, as I'm sure you understand," he said, through it wasn't really much of an answer and he was slowly pulling Ava to her feet. Her eyes were glued to Derrick at this point, but Jay didn't want to submit to their impending doom just yet.
"We'll walk you back to the school since you're lost, and then we can call our own cab," he told the man, wrapping his arm around Ava's waist since she seemed a little weak in the knees.

Morgan | 802 comments Derrick awkwardly looked to the ground clearing his throat as Ava watched him with... he didn't exactly know but it made him feel responsible for something, and that's nothing he wanted. At Jay's response he couldn't help but to scuff a bit in reply. "Oh yes, I'm sure you spend all your free time here in your sober hours." He replied with a sideways grimace before turning back the way he came. "That would be great." He replied seeing it as a small win for himself.
With more effort then he would usually need if he wasn't in this state he jumped out of the ditch, almost landing unsteadily on his feet. "Need help?" Derrick asked, raising an eyebrow as he looked back at the two. He doubted he would be of that much aid, but he wasn't so sure they wouldn't fall over themselves getting back to the path.

Isis | 5021 comments Jay shook his head in response to his question. He pulled himself up the incline fairly easily then held his hand down to Ava, who ignored them and climbed up herself. She didn't struggle, but it wasn't the graceful movement she would have had if she were sober.
They both dusted themselves off and then started to walk, not very straight or stable, toward the path Jay had pointed out.
"What are you even doing out here, anyway," Jay asked after a moment, "And why do you even care if we pass out here or in our beds? You probably don't even remember our names."
"And we can take care of ourselves just fine," Ava added, finally getting her senses back about her.
