Sequels, a bit like that tricky second album for a new band... ;)

I'm in the throes of writing mine, and the best advice I can offer is: don't overthink it beyond what obviously needs to be thought through (i.e. plot, etc) and just keep writing! Your second effort is never going to be as fresh as your first novel, but done right your sequel should build on its accomplishments.
