Just enjoyed The Scholar by Dervla McTiernan. Our handsome young Irish detective Cormac O'Reilly is put back into action in when his girlfriend finds a dead body one night!

I enjoyed this romantic thriller based around "out of place artifacts" and people with a magical ability to sense their histories by touching them:

The Family Lie by Jake Cross review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
It's over-the-top adrenaline, action, and high-tech when Gregg Hurwitz brings Orphan X, aka the Nowhere Man, Out of the Dark and pits him against US President Jonathan Bennett.

I found this a bit slow to get going but quite a good mystery:
The Nanny by Gilly Macmillan 3.5★review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Beautiful! More than a picture book, it's a poignant story of a little girl in wartime. Captain Rosalie by Timothée de Fombelle and Isabelle Arsenault (illustrator) is out in June and still available on NetGalley.

Thank you to Net Galley, the author and the publishers for a ARC copy for review.
Aidan Snow thought he could escape his past. But now it’s back, with a vengeance.
Ten years ago, SAS Trooper Aidan Snow was left fighting for his life after a mission went wrong and ever since he has been haunted by the image of the man with green eyes. The man who should have killed him.
Now, Snow is finally living a peaceful life in Ukraine… Until Taurus Pashinski, the green-eyed man, returns.
As Snow’s past catches up with him he finds himself thrown back into the world of espionage with a vengeance. Taking in the end of the Soviet Union, it draws a picture of the ensuing lawlessness, especially in its southern Moldavian and Trans-Dniester region.
This was an interesting read, a good main character in Snow. my problem with the books was all the real difficult "Russian" names, too many characters with names I could not remember, so found it difficult to follow who was on what side, who was good or who was bad,Snow and Vickers fine.
Although a basis for a good thriller become very hard to follow and keep up to date with so many characters in the different countries.
So with apologies only three stars for me, but I do believe this author is good, and with being able to understand and follows the characters would have gained an extra star from me.
Not a thriller, but it's outstanding. If only the world would learn the lessons of the late Elie Wiesel, Holocaust survivor and renowned teacher and peace activist. Ariel Burger was his student and friend, now a teacher himself. His Witness: Lessons from Elie Wiesel's Classroom is a must-read.

Nobody should pass up the BuzzBook previews! As expected, I enjoyed Buzz Books 2019: Fall/Winter: Excerpts from Next Season's Best New Titles by Susannah Cahalan, Eoin Colfer, J.T. Ellison, Jojo Moyes, Jeanette Winterson and More which, as you can see, has a lot to choose from. I made a few comments, but it's worth checking the Goodreads blurb for a good list.

Not a thriller, but very wonderful! The Water Dancer

This is not really in the thriller genre, it's more of a historical family drama set in 1920s South Carolina, but has a murder and family secret at the heart of it.
