I enjoyed this complex but satisfying detective story set during WWII.

I enjoyed Mick Herron’s third book in the Slough House series, Real Tigers. More fun and games (and rough and tumble) with the demoted spies, the Slow Horses.

Like Patty, I'm really enjoying Mick Herron's Slow Horses series after downloading the first four as Read Now. Here's my review for the third in the series,
Real Tigershttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Technically not a thriller, but it might as well be. Un-bloody-believable! SO good! Tara Westover’s personal story, Educated: A Memoir is terrific.
5★ My review has lots of (non-spoiler) quotes. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Protected- a romantic suspense equally strong on both romance and suspense.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
No wonder it's already a bestseller! Loved The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn.

Thank you to Net Galley, the publishers and the author for this Jess Bishop book 2. Knowing I had been approved for number two, I quickly ordered number one and read it, a four star book from me.
Now the question to me is number two as good..... No
Why? Just a fraction behind on the gripping suspense of the first one..
Blinking her eyes open, she looks around the room, taking in the bed and the wardrobe full of clothes she’s never seen before. This isn’t her bedroom. Those aren’t her clothes. She begins to cry as she wonders if she’ll ever see her own home again.
Three young girls are missing. All of them cold cases. All of them forgotten. But when Detective Jess Bishop identifies a disturbing link between them, she’s determined to find out what happened, and fights to re-open their cases.
At the scene of each abduction the kidnapper left a clue – a small bag of candy – in place of the missing child.
And then a fourth child is taken. Eight-year-old Ava is snatched from her hospital bed and when a bag of candy is found in her room, Jessica knows it’s the same kidnapper.
As the pressure to solve the case pushes Jess and her team to breaking point, Jess takes a personal risk she fears she’ll live to regret. But she has no choice.
Out of hospital, Ava can only get sicker: Jess is running out of time. Can she find Ava before it’s too late?
A thriller that will have your pulse racing. Cross Your Heart is perfect for fans of Robert Dugoni, Karin Slaughter and Lisa Gardner, Sharon Bolton, Angela Marsons.
Jessica Bishop! A great female character... clever, stubborn ,naughty, different and an tough FBI agent to.
Just a fraction weaker than the first book, maybe as a shorter story, maybe too short?
Like the author, the character, but did prefer Forget Me Not.
But still a clear three star book
My review for
Killer Intent by Tony Kent 4★, a high octane political thriller.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Thank you to Net Galley, Bookouture, and Robert Bryndza for a ARC copy of Deadly Secrets, with the great Erika Foster.
Firstly let's start of my review with a great thank you to Rob, Robert Bryndza for giving his time for his first Q & A's with my group " A Good Thriller" on goodreads, a great success with lots of interesting questions.
Secondly, I think number six is the best so far in the series.
To commit the perfect murder, you need the perfect cover.
On an icy morning, a mother wakes to find her daughter’s blood-soaked body frozen to the road. Who would carry out such a killing on the victim’s doorstep?
Straight off her last harrowing case, Detective Erika Foster is feeling fragile but determined to lead the investigation. As she sets to work, she finds reports of assaults in the same quiet South London suburb where the woman was killed. One chilling detail links them to the murder victim – they were all attacked by a figure in black wearing a gas mask.
Erika is on the hunt for a killer with a terrifying calling card. The case gets more complicated when she uncovers a tangled web of secrets surrounding the death of the beautiful young woman.
Yet just as Erika begins to piece the clues together, she is forced to confront painful memories of her past. Erika must dig deep, stay focused and find the killer. Only this time, one of her own is in terrible
So why is this the best so far......
A brutal, powerful and gripping story, but what made this book so good, the depth of the characters, seeing a different side to Erika, a great new side to Moss, and Peterson.
Strong story line evolving and strengthening the main characters, Moss role in latter part of this book, shocks that you do not see with a powerful and shocking ending.
What more can I say other than to read this book, so many good things in this book.
Five stars
