Mark lives in a small village in the lovely county of Cumbria, although his books are set in Oxfordshire where he was born and raised.

After serving in the Royal Navy and raising his two daughters after being widowed, Mark finally took the plunge and self-published two books on Amazon, The Revelation Room and The Eyes of the Accused.

He's always had a keen interest in writing, and is extremely proud to have his fifth novel, The Key to Death's Door published with The Liar's Promise, The Abattoir of Dreams, and both The Revelation Room and The Eyes of the Accused re-launched by Bloodhound Books.

When he's not writing, Mark can be found trying and failing to master blues guitar, and taking walks around the beautiful county of Cumbria.

When this happens I'll sit down at my PC and just type whatever comes into my head. I don't give too much thought to what appears on the screen and seems to get rid of whatever rubbish is in my mind so I can get on with the good stuff!(less)

After enjoying Osborne’s Rae Hatting series, I was very pleased to see that she’d published this stand-alone thriller.

The book kicks off with a very tense opening. After the prologue, you’ll want to keep reading the whole book in one go!

“Detective Inspector Carver took a picture from the breast pocket of his suit. He handed it to me. ‘This is what you did, Michael. Take a good look. See if it jogs your memory.’
I gawped at the mutilated corpse of a naked young girl lying on a blood-soaked double bed. Her hands were bound to the brass headboard with duct tape. Blood covered her upper body, and her long blonde hair was streaked a murderous shade of red. One eye stared at the ceiling as if searching for salvation, the other, a bloody unrecognisable pulp, bore no relation to its sightless counterpart.
‘Carla Marie Coombs. Twenty-one years of age. Do you recognise her, Michael?”
Mark Tilbury, The Abattoir of Dreams

“A writer is a messenger for the subconscious.”
Mark Tilbury

“The concrete floor beneath the airbed was hard and uncompromising, digging into her back and making it difficult to breathe. The stale air reeked of disinfectant and shit. And something else that she couldn't quite place. Death, perhaps?”
Mark Tilbury, The Eyes of the Accused

“The scariest moment is always just before you start.”
Stephen King, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft

“That's the one good thing about the human brain, it constantly revises the past, cutting bits here, adding bits there, presenting it in an even more palatable way - the way we would have liked things to have been, rather than the way they really are.”
Peter James, Perfect People
