Mark lives in a small village in the lovely county of Cumbria, although his books are set in Oxfordshire where he was born and raised.

After being widowed and raising his two daughters, Mark finally took the plunge and self-published two books on Amazon, The Revelation Room and The Eyes of the Accused.

He's always had a keen interest in writing, and is extremely proud to have had seven novels published by Bloodhound Books. He's also recently self-published, The Last One To See Her.

When he's not writing, Mark can be found playing guitar, reading and walking.

Mark sends out e-mail newsletters once a month to keep readers updated with news and offering them chances to win exclusive prizes. You can sign up here: http://eepurl.com/bNSvJn

When this happens I'll sit down at my PC and just type whatever comes into my head. I don't give too much thought to what appears on the screen and seems to get rid of whatever rubbish is in my mind so I can get on with the good stuff!(less)

This is one of those books where you mull over what you've read a long time after you've finished reading it. And there's plenty to mull over; good, evil, lies, secrets, the nature of mankind and free will.

The book is narrated by evil which I thought

“Detective Inspector Carver took a picture from the breast pocket of his suit. He handed it to me. ‘This is what you did, Michael. Take a good look. See if it jogs your memory.’
I gawped at the mutilated corpse of a naked young girl lying on a blood-soaked double bed. Her hands were bound to the brass headboard with duct tape. Blood covered her upper body, and her long blonde hair was streaked a murderous shade of red. One eye stared at the ceiling as if searching for salvation, the other, a bloody unrecognisable pulp, bore no relation to its sightless counterpart.
‘Carla Marie Coombs. Twenty-one years of age. Do you recognise her, Michael?”
Mark Tilbury, The Abattoir of Dreams

“A writer is a messenger for the subconscious.”
Mark Tilbury

“The concrete floor beneath the airbed was hard and uncompromising, digging into her back and making it difficult to breathe. The stale air reeked of disinfectant and shit. And something else that she couldn't quite place. Death, perhaps?”
Mark Tilbury, The Eyes of the Accused

“The scariest moment is always just before you start.”
Stephen King, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft

“That's the one good thing about the human brain, it constantly revises the past, cutting bits here, adding bits there, presenting it in an even more palatable way - the way we would have liked things to have been, rather than the way they really are.”
Peter James, Perfect People

“This is how you do it: you sit down at the keyboard and you put one word after another until its done. It's that easy, and that hard.”
