Michael Fattorosi | 477 comments Who here gives away free chapters on their websites/blogs before the book is released to entice readers ?

If you do, how many Chapters have you given away? Is there a number that you found works to really turn a reader into a buyer ?

Also, do any of you offer a free an audio file of several chapters (streaming or download) to website visitors as well ?

My wife has a great voice (she did TV and radio) and Im thinking about having her read several chapters and allowing visitors to my website listen to it. I will be offering the novel on Audible as well so Im wondering if that would translate to sales.

Tara Woods Turner | 2063 comments Audible has a feature that lets you send sample clips to readers and post them on your social media platforms. When you have a book on Audible Goodreads automatically puts the 15 minute sample on your book's page so they can listen. Here's mine: Beyond Good Manners: How to Raise a Sophisticated Child

Annie Arcane (anniearcane) Hmm. I actually serialized the entire thing online. The ONLY reason I even whipped up an ebook was because my readers asked me to and I totally adore those buggers haha!

I did write a bit of additional content but well over 90% of the book was already available for free. It didn't stop anyone from buying it. I mean, they asked me to make it so they'd better buy it...

*evil grin*

For book two, I've released some teaser excerpts to readers. But I kept them password-protected so only someone who'd read book one could access them. Exclusive content is my jam ^_^

Oh, and I still have all my equipment from recording podcasts so yeah, I might stream readings at some point. Why not, eh? Can't hurt, I reckon!

Hugs,
Ann
