WOW! Looks like you've got the mental health choices pretty well covered, Mariah! xD

I did some research on books that discuss masculinity and perceptions of men, and these three all got predominantly good reviews:

King, Warrior, Magician, Lover Rediscovering the Archetypes of the Mature Masculine by Robert L. Moore King, Warrior, Magician, Lover: Rediscovering the Archetypes of the Mature Masculine

Fire in the Belly On Being a Man by Sam Keen Fire in the Belly: On Being a Man

Manhood in the Making Cultural Concepts of Masculinity by David D. Gilmore Manhood in the Making: Cultural Concepts of Masculinity

If group members want to go approach masculinity from a more unconventional angle, we could explore Nietzsche's view of the "superman" (or "ubermensch", as he put it). Considering Nietzsche's reputation (I've never actually read his work so I don't know for certain what his philosophies were), it's very likely none of us would agree with him, but it still might make for an interesting discussion to compare an antiquated notion of what a philosopher once considered to be the "ideal man" as verses how we view the role and traits of men today.

Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Friedrich Nietzsche Thus Spoke Zarathustra

And finally, if group members would prefer looking at fictional stories that feature protagonists who are considered "masculine", here are a couple of suggestions:

The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett The Maltese Falcon

The Spy Who Came In from the Cold by John le Carré The Spy Who Came In from the Cold

Hope this helps! :)
