Heather | 236 comments I'm going with a different type of recommendation and going with Assassination Classroom, Vol. 1 by Yūsei Matsui if you like a comical plotline and graphic novels.

message 52: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments I agree with the two completed already :)

message 53: by JoJo (new)

JoJo Kirkman (jojo2013) | 315 comments I'll nominate The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult. Or anything by Jodi Picoult, she's got so many great books.

message 54: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments I am going to read Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles, #1) by Kresley Cole for the orange book and Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen for the summer book

message 55: by Marina (new)

Marina | 1312 comments I hope one of you has an idea of which books are used for which tasks. I'm kinda lost, but I've added mine on the spreedsheat.

I'm working on my audiobook and will definitely listen to 5 hours this week and I'm still planning on doing some outside reading later in the week when the weather really picks up here.

Uhh, and a recommandation.. I'll return with that ASAP.

message 56: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments For the map does it have to be outside of where you live?

message 57: by Zaz (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments For the map, it needs to be one of the AtY Reading Challenge. The location doesn't matter :)

I read outside 20min, youhou! (it's 35°C so it's not really friendly out there).

So I could use it for childhood classic?

message 59: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments I'm doing the alphabet soup game

message 60: by Marina (new)

Marina | 1312 comments I've listened to 2 hours and 15 minutes of my audiobook today. How should I write it on the spreedsheat? If I write 2,25 it adds up to 2,3. For now I've entered 2 hours.

message 61: by Sam F (new)

Sam F | 82 comments I'm not sure how to enter the books I read that I started before the read-a-thon. We're using them for other squares - I started: My Home As I Remember (poetry) and After the War is Over (female author). If they can't be combined with any other square, I'm still reading A Dance With Dragons, but it's going to take me a little longer :)

message 62: by Marina (last edited Aug 23, 2016 05:53AM) (new)

Marina | 1312 comments I've done the title scramble.
Do we all have to play every game or is it enough just one of us has done it?

Sorry if I'm asking too many questions :-)

Thanks, sounds fun!

It's ok now Marina, Zaz's table displays your 2,25 hours. Maybe the cell format only allowed for 1 number after the comma.

I suggest we put the books read in black and if they fit multiple categories we'll see later for which we would enter them.

As you're the only one reading poetry, I already marked this category as done in the spreadsheet and in the second comment of this thread.

Would After the War also work for another category?

No such things as too many questions! As I understood, Team Lemon has to enter each game at least once, but don't let that prevent you of playing the games ;)

Sam F | 82 comments Sam wrote: "Would After the War also work for another category?."

I don't think so - it is a female author and I started it before the read-a-thon. I just wasn't sure if they could be placed in both categories.

I noted it down for those two categories and we'll see later for which we're going to use it.

message 66: by Keri (last edited Aug 23, 2016 10:32AM) (new)

Keri Well, I think we are doing an awesome job so far! GO TEAM LEMON!!! Last night I finished After You so it can count as one of the three started before the challenge. I'll update the spreadsheet in a little while when I get to my computer. I hate that I can only do so much on my tablet! Still trying to figure out which book I want to recommended.

message 67: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments On break at work I will update my page count when I get on my laptop

message 68: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 697 comments Almost time to go home :)
I'm going to read The Fugitive tonight for G2 (short story or novella), and I'll try to do G1 (finish a book or story in one sitting) and G3 (read for one straight hour) at the same time.

message 69: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 697 comments And I finished the novella in 1 hour and four minutes so it can count for G1, G2 and G3 :)
Can't update the spreadsheet on my tablet, will do that tomorrow or maybe later today.
The novella was 125 pages.
It doesn't count for B1 because there are two more novella's in my book.

message 70: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Lieke, you could download the Sheets app to update the spreadsheet, but it's no problem to do it for you! :)

message 71: by Marina (new)

Marina | 1312 comments I read for 1hour straight this evening so G3 is done :-)

message 72: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Yay, 5 already done, we rock!

Good night everybody, I'm going to dream of make-up after spending the evening with Lisa Eldridge ;)

message 73: by Lieke (last edited Aug 23, 2016 01:27PM) (new)

Lieke | 697 comments Thank you Sophie!
I have downloaded the app, so I'm going to try next time :)

message 74: by Zaz (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments I also did my 1h straight, but it was difficult as I wanted to check Goodreads :D

I read more of my novella and book started before the challenge and listened a bit of audio (I'm at 3h). I'd some social life after work, so less time to read, I'll try to catch up a little tomorrow because I don't want to complete squares only this weekend. My AtY and red books are under 300p, so with luck they'll be compelling.

I hope everyone has fun for the moment :)

message 75: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 0 comments I just finished Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and spent an hour straight reading it!

message 76: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 0 comments This team bingo has really given me the kick in the butt I needed. Thanks guys :)

message 77: by Bec (new)

Bec | 1342 comments Sorry team I'm just logging on - I got confused and didn't realised we had started...time zone thing messing with me too...anyway...this is my first read-a-thon and I'm a bit confused!!
What do you need me to read? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

message 78: by Bec (new)

Bec | 1342 comments Ok I read the excel spreadsheet and think I get it. I put in the book I recommended to the sheet - is that right?.
I can read a short story - Hero's Moment.

message 79: by Marina (new)

Marina | 1312 comments Bec, I think we're still missing a book set in summer. Is that something you could read?

message 80: by Marina (new)

Marina | 1312 comments Oh, and of course Hi and great to have you on the amazing Team Lemon :-)

message 81: by Bec (new)

Bec | 1342 comments Let me look for a summer book and get back to you....by Sunday right?

message 82: by Bec (new)

Bec | 1342 comments Ok yep got one - The Rock Star's Daughter
And as it starts with R it can count for my book starting with my name in ATY!! Win win!

message 83: by Marina (new)

Marina | 1312 comments Goodmorning team! A new day of reading is ahead of us :-)
(I sound fresh, but I'm not)

I just played the "Guess that cover" game, so that's one more game we can tick off. There's also the "Five facts about me". I need to think a little before I answer those, but maybe one of you want to play that game?

My plan today is to listen to my audio during the day and when I get home this afternoon I'll see if I can finish The last kingdom.

My book recommandation: I'm not always a fan of YA but I just read The Sky Is Everywhere and absolutely loved it. It as beautiful written, and there were so many interesting characters. It has some very serious sides but is still light and warm.

message 84: by Sophie (last edited Aug 24, 2016 12:39AM) (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Hi Bec and welcome! Yes the deadline is Sunday, if you could find a book set in summer it would be great, but if not, don't sweat it. The goal is to have fun and read as much as we can without putting too much pressure on ourselves!

Edit: sorry I didn't see your comment about The Rock Star's Daughter, that's great!

message 85: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Zaz wrote: "I also did my 1h straight, but it was difficult as I wanted to check Goodreads :D"

It was the same for me on Monday, I kept checking the time to see if the hour was done yet ;)

Nicole wrote: "I just finished Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and spent an hour straight reading it!"

Great Nicole, I wrote it down for two categories and we'll see where we put it at the end.

I suggest we start writing down on the B3 line the books we finish for ATY and then we put the rest on B1, ok for you?

message 86: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 697 comments Pages Read Tuesday: 186
Time read outside: 0
Books Read (#) 0
Books for ATY (#) 0
Read-a-Thon games done: 3/12

I did the "Five facts about me" game.

message 87: by Sam F (new)

Sam F | 82 comments Good morning! It looks like it will be a good day for reading :) My recommendation if you like non-fiction is Born on a Blue Day: Inside the Extraordinary Mind of an Autistic Savant by Daniel Tammet. It was so interesting to get into his mind to see how he processes information and deals with social situations he finds so difficult. Quite a fascinating read.

message 88: by Zaz (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments I read another 30min outside and did the "Guess That Cover" game :)

message 89: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments I have 2 letters left in the alphabet soup game!

message 90: by Bec (new)

Bec | 1342 comments Shall I read a short story too? I've got 2 to read so could do one now, or save it if we don't need it

message 91: by Zaz (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments Bec, for the moment, Lieke finished one and I'm currently reading another. You can keep it for later this week, better to finish full books before :)

message 92: by Bec (new)

Bec | 1342 comments No problems - I will get stuck into the summer book!!

message 93: by Marina (new)

Marina | 1312 comments I've listened to my audiobook for 2 hours and 45 minutes, so I've done my 5 hours in total.
I'm still missing a couple of hours to finish the book. Can the rest of the book count as pages? Does anybody know?

message 94: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Yes the mods said you could count the pages for the total pages, but not the same pages you counted for the audiobook square. Hope it makes sense?

message 95: by Zaz (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments I added beautiful (or not) smileys to the bingo card in the doc, so it's easier to see what's completed :)

message 96: by Keri (new)

Keri Hi Everyone, just getting my day started here! I started Remember Jamie Baker yesterday on my Kindle but it doesn't list page numbers so I won't be able to update with my pages read until I've finished the book. Just wanted to let ya'll know so you don't think I've stopped reading. :)

message 97: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Love your smileys Zaz!

message 98: by Sophie (last edited Aug 24, 2016 08:00AM) (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments I was working from home this afternoon and had easy spreadsheet things to do (I love when my job has me do spreadsheet-crazy things haha), so I listened to 4 hours of The Forgotten Garden! That helps me to complete my part for the audiobook square.

In total I read 340 pages, half-way through the goal for O1 after 2 1/2 days, I'm impressed with myself ;)

message 99: by Zaz (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments No problem Keri, I'm also on Kindle so I convert my % to pages and it's a little annoying!

Well done, Sophie :)

message 100: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments I read for half an hour outside (total of 1 hour) and finished my first read-a-thon book, Face Paint: The Story of Makeup!
