If it's really a second (or more) edition, there will be a new ISBN or ASIN, different page numbers, etc. Something will have changed.
That said, yes, if they really are new editions, you can keep adding them. For instance it's a "thing" currently for authors to pull their books off Amazon and republish with a different ASIN, resulting in a couple of dozen editions that are otherwise identical, perhaps that's the kind of thing you're seeing.
