Elodie | 35 comments Hi, all!
I'm working on my first novel (95K) and will soon be looking for beta readers. I've done some beta reading myself but I guess everyone has a different working style (some only give reviews, some make corrections, whatever...).
I need to plan my book project in advance but I have no idea how much time I should consider for beta reading process. For now, I counted with 6 weeks including searching for beta readers and getting their corrections/opinions back.
Is that enough?

Emma Jaye | 149 comments Give your beta readers a time frame, if they can't complete in that time, hopefully they won't take up the offer. My advice is to have at least 5-10 betas if you can find them so you get an overall reader impression. What works for one, won't work for all and just because one person doesn't like an aspect, it doesn't mean you should change it.
If 4 or five people mention the same thing, its a different matter.

Martin Rinehart 6 weeks may be enough, Elodie. I needed two years. (Major flaw: weak plot. Fix: save the characters, replace the plot.)
