Hi, there! Here at the Knockin' Books blog, we've just published our first book,
which was designed to help self-published authors convince book bloggers (like us) read their books. If you decide to give it a try, let us know what you think!

The GR TOS states as follows:"Subject to the terms and conditions of this agreement, Goodreads grants you permission to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial purposes only."
It goes further and prohibits...
"(vii) using the Service for any commercial solicitation purposes;"
I appreciate you were rather dismayed at my objection to your price gouging struggling authors. But you know guys, sometimes you just got to roll with the punches. :-)
Well, I should keep my mouth shut cuz I ain't gonna be the popular kid but really, who wants to be popular anyway, right?*rebel smirk*
Seriously, though, these guys run a beautiful site and offer a ton of FREE advice on their blog:
http://www.knockinbooks.com
Not to mention, they accept review requests from indies.
And, no, I don't know anyone from there. I've only submitted a request at the recommendation of a friend here at GR ^_^
Hugs,
Ann

Advertising a book blog is perfectly legitimate, they don't charge for reviews. It doesn't matter that they offer other paid services because the reviews aren't dependant on buying anything.Book bloggers are very welcome here, who doesn't want reviews?
I'm an author assistant for a NYT bestseller who is a hybrid with some self-published titles (I'm not saying for who, because I'm not entirely convinced there won't be retaliation for what I'm about to say), but I'm actually a big fan of the Knockin' Books blog. There's been a ton of great free advice out there (and some funny pop culture stuff), and since it's my job to price author services and negotiate the best possible terms for my client, I'll say that I found their prices on author services (which no one HAS TO use) to be fair. (Not the cheapest, mind you, but not the most expensive, either). There's tons of blogs out there who won't review indie books (even for bestsellers), and I commend them on their willingness to promote self-published authors. Gotta say I'm a little shocked that there are authors out there who are willing to publically bash an author services site--and a book blog, at that!!! Take it from me, negativity gets you NOTHING in this business. To the folks at the blog, I'm assuming you got out of this group and will probably not read this (can't blame you), but I wish you nothing but the best. Also, to Annie: I read Hart Broken after enjoying a few of your comments on various things, and really liked it! Can't wait for the next book!
