Please keep all discussion and speculation to the events of Part 1 (Chapters 1-4).

No spoiler tags required. Though it would be highly appreciated if you Uncheck Add to my Update Feed to avoid accidentally spoiling this for your good read friends.

Please do not discuss events from later chapters/books. Referring back to events from a previous section/book is fine

Sumant | 522 comments Huge prologue & chapter 1 in this book following are some of the points from the chapters

Elaida has a meeting with Aes sedai where they inform her that a civil war is going on in Shienar,Arad Doman & Tarabon.

The white cloaks have also started expansion which is alarming for the Aes sedai.

But Elaida doesn't want anything to do with this useless info she wants to know about whereabouts of Rand. She tells her sisters to find more info about him. She also mulls over letting Siuan slip away.

Next we meet Rand in Rhuidean and come to know that he has done lot of changes for Aiel

1. He has opened rhuidean for all aiel which was forbidden.
2.He has told all aiel regarding their past and how they were connected to tinkers, due to which a lot of aiel have given away thier spear and have left to join the tinkers.

Also 6 clans of aiel have joined him so far and he waiting for remaining 5 to join him.

We also meet Siuan,Min & Logain where they have been captured by Gareth Bryne's people, although Logain manages to escape, Bryne makes all three women swear fealty to him.

The three of them manage to escape from his clutches with Logain's help.

I found the beginning really slow. The stuff with the Aiel was far more interesting than the rest.

Mat and his blind knife throwing. And asking women if they are the daughter of the nine moons. Heh.

Morgaise is in trouble. Her new beau is working whodoo on her.

I do like Bryne though.

I wonder when we'll get back to Perrin and the Two Rivers.

Bill | 1596 comments I forget her name but Elaida's second in command seems quite emotionless. So we now have three factions of Aes Sedai to go with all the other civil wars going on. I think one of the best parts of this series is trying to speculate on where everyone will ultimately align.

I'm really glad we get a pov of Bryne.

Her keeper was a white, wasn't she? Or maybe a yellow. The whites tend to be very Vulcan like in my mind..

Bill | 1596 comments She is a white. Ok so maybe that is it.
