"Fair enough. What's your favorite color then?" She asked.
"Hm. Well then. What do you like?" She asked, rolling her eyes.
"Of course. You seem like the pessimistic type," she said.
"whatever," HE said, rolling his eyes.
She glanced at him. "Does the knife wound still hurt?" She asked.
"Well, do you need me here or?" She asked.
"If you want to be here, alright. If not, okay. See ya." He shrugged.
"I'll stay. I haven't talked to anyone in a while," she said softly, closing her eyes and leaning against a tree trunk.
"What are you good at?" She asked him, looking at him.
"Hunting, fighting. I dunno. Nothing really useful anymore."
"Not survival stuff, just in general. Like, before." She said.
"Okay, whatever. Could you draw?" She asked him, curious.
"I was always bad at drawing." She said, studying his face, then looking away when she realized what she was doing.
She yawned. "I came here to make some dinner, want some?" She asked him.
She nodded, standing to get the rabbit. It was still there, and she took her knife out, beginning to skin it, her stomach turning.
"Yeah, could you start a fire? If your side hurts too much, then I'll do it," she said, shrugging.
She continued skinning the rabbit, finally done. She put the rabbit down on her pants, taking some edible plants out of her bag.
Eli gathered some wood from nearby and got a fire going.
Ella left the plants to her side, cutting up the rabbit. She skewered the pieces, getting up to hand them to Eli to cook.
Eli sat by the fire, adding wood when needed.
She cooked the meat, giving Eli the skewers. "One second," she murmured, going to get the plants.
She picked up the plants, which were mostly wild carrots and blackberries. She pulled out a woven wicker basket which she used to collect things, setting it in front of him, dropping the plants in.
She smiled at him. "Dinner is served," she said softly, sitting down.
She smiled and nodded, eating a blackberry.
Eli ate a blackberry, it being extremely sour to him. He shook his head slightly n
She frowned. "What's wrong? Not good enough for you?" She said, scoffing.
"I just wasn't expecting that one to be sour. That's all." He said softly, His voice cold.
"Okay, whatever." She said, looking away from him and taking some meat.
"Sorry," she said, feeling bad about what she said.
She glanced at him. "Why did you not believe in the whole soulmate thing?"
"Because why would it work? A dumb clock won't know who I'm meant to be with..."
She smiled, looking up at the sky. "Hm, really? Maybe it had, and you just ignored them. I mean, at least yours probably worked." She muttered.
"Mine is unlikely to work. I've tried breaking it and getting rid of it many times..." He mumbled.
