Please Read, a very successful interview and process between myself and two lovely members, who are writing a book.

These ladies have added a thread in the general called

"What makes This Group/Club Your Home"

A very important thread to add your comments , please do.

Perri asked me to explain a little more about this thread, so please see below.

I will, it was and is very important that many members go to the thread mentioned above, to say what they liked about this group.

Is was a very in depth discussion for over 1 hour about the relationships of the many different characters, their personalities, our pots, our replies to posts, how we as moderators keep everyone reasonably happy.

This group is being used as a starting block of how to run a successful group.

Many members from this group have done the survey, giving great compliments to all the moderators, many who do not post but read.

I was very humbled with the incredible feedback from the survey, which is ongoing, but also the lovely comments from the two ladies.

The two ladies have completely discovered the way we had done things right, when we had some problems with members, the threads we have done so well, the way we have reacted to posts good and bad

They picked "Ten Random Facts" as one of our very best threads, I wish it was busier!!

Some of my comments and Janet's will be used for a book that will come out called " Book Social", and "maybe" used in the future be used in American Universities other groups etc..

These discovered so many groups/moderators were not doing a job of growing their groups, un pleasant threads, bad members, aggressive behaviour, unhappy members etc...

So a great thing for this group, so Perri persuade our good friends to post their thoughts on the group in the general file.

I am very excited about the importance of these ladies success with this book, and how we can help.

Called "What makes This club/group your home" please.

Perri, happy to share this post with everyone.

HornFan2 (hornfan2) | 235 comments It's the controlled environment, all the rules it has, established by Sean and it's basically made up of like minded people throughout the World. That basically makes it work, why so many enjoy it and you avoid the pitfalls that that ultimately splits apart or leads to the end of the groups.

I also think it does lead to this pitfall, were you have an amount of members who don't comment ever, or comment ever once and a while.

Skye | 636 comments It's also a love for the same genre and the willingness to share openly with one another. And of course, Sean is and has been the backbone of this group for as long as I have been a member.
:)

That's a no brainer, since all groups have a topic that they are about. Merely saying that the structure/foundation establish by Sean will lead to success verse failure.

Betsy Hetzel | 122 comments I am a relatively "newbie" to the Good Thriller discussion group / site and my experience has been SO positive. I look forward to each month's BOTM and our subsequent discussion.
I was welcomed from the start and felt valued for my insights, observations and comments, even when we members sometimes agreed to disagree; it was always a healthy disagreement, never a personal attack and THIS to me is what makes our group special.
We don't all like the same book; we don't all have the same experience with the book, but we all love books , and we give each other the respect to share our opinions about what we read. There is no drama, no back-stabbing, etc. , just a group of like-minded individuals who like to get the most from their reading experience.
I applaud our MODS because they are the ones who make this all work, and work well it does !

Karen | 118 comments The group with the book genre I love to read. How it is organized. Fellow readers who love books of this subject, unlike some other groups. Well organized and balanced. Very welcoming.

Amy (thenikitagirl) | 636 comments I have gushed about this group, time and time again. Sometimes my enthusiasm, I'm sure, has annoyed people to no end. However, when I discovered it in 2015, it had a deep and profound effect on something I was going through personally. It practically saved my life. I could never explain how much its presence in my life was such a positive and amazing experience. The people in this particular sub community of GR, A Good Thriller, words would not be enough to describe their kindness and plain fun in sharing their love of reading and opinions on books. The mods here are second to none. We all appreciate their work on this hobby in maintaining such a pleasant environment.

Also, I just wanted to mention something that distinguishes it for me personally, has been your PIFM thread. Great people and unique take on it. In other groups, it tends to be used differently than in this one. I enjoy it immensely in AGT and its take on their version of it. The people who participate regularly in it look so forward to it each month, that one would swear it's the first time participating. Absolutely fantastic thread.

Thanks again to its creator, Sean, and fellow mods, Janet, (retired for now) Autumn, and Lorrea. <3 Much Love.
