From reading the screenplay, and I the only one who got the impression that Albus and Scorpius were going to end up as a couple/they both had feelings for each other? It might just be me reading between the lines too much, but for me, it felt like the two characters had a special bond. Is it just me?

Discuss.

I think that the feelings were just friendly, and that they were just really good friends. I do ship them, but not as much as I ship Scorpius and Rose.

Carlos | 104 comments Oh yes! As I was reading the play I was surer that they both were about to confess their feelings. I felt the energy flowing between them, I've never ship a couple more in my life.

I thought this time J. K. would introduce at least one LGBT character to the canon but at the end it was all disappointment.

As to Rose, I really hate her, I hate her more than I hate Umbridge. She is arrogant and hasn't done anything important to the plot. Why should Albus like her?

I think I should stop as I am getting a little too passionate now.

I like that you passionate about it! I think that Rose is a lot like Hermione and if there was more detail about her character then we would fall in love with her. For me Rose is one of my favourite characters.

And hating her more than Umbridge? Is there anyone worse than Umbridge? haha

Carlos | 104 comments Hahaha, I was being too dramatic, of course I don't hate Rose. As you has said, we have to read more about her to love her.

Sorry for that!

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

No no its fine! I like your passion for it, I am definitely like that (if not worse) with some characters :)

Rose reminded me a lot of Hermione in her first year before the troll in the bathroom, rather stuck up. I don't feel that it is fair to criticize the character as we don't get to know her in depth. :)

(Talking of Umbridge, her appearance at the end of part 1 was amazing, left the story at a great cliffhanger.)

Sometimes as I read about Albus and Scorpius, I was reminded of Percy and Nico in the heroes of Olympus. I thought they were funny together and charming, but Scorprose was pretty perfect in the cursed child as well.

Lindsay Fouts (lindsay_fouts) It wouldn't have surprised me either if there were romantic feelings between the two. Maybe this was because of reading Rainbow Rowell's Fangirl.

Rose reminded me of young hermione

Yes! That did remind me a bit of Fangirl!

Srijita | 110 comments Well sorry, but i didnot much like rose.she was quite obnoxious and i dont think she resembled hermione.whatever hermione was she wasnot someone who would behave rudely to a person who spoke nicely to her.rose was very rude with scorpius and i didnot like it.
However i absolutely loved albus and scorpius' friendship!!!

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

We will have to agree to disagree on Rose :) Ans yes I loved their friendship too!

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Is it only me that thinks Scorpius and Ron are a little similar in personality?

fia | 8 comments I think Rose doesn't appear in the story to be hated that much. Who knows, she could be the one who wanted to be Albus and Scorpius's friend but she was afraid that her cousin's wouldn't like her anymore. So, I think that the whole Rose hate is quite unnecessary. And she becomes quite friendly with them at the end of the book.

Yeah that can be.rose wasnt given much time in the play so we dont get to see her that closely.

How do you think Harry, Ginny and Draco would react if Albus and Scorpius were dating?

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

I think that they would come round to it eventually and I think it would bring Harry and Draco closer as friends!

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

I think they would be fine with it, now that Harry and Draco don't hate each other as much. Plus it would be nice to have more LGBT characters in the HP universe. The only one is Dumbledore right?

Carlos | 104 comments I think they would be ok with their sons dating a Harry/Draco's child. However, I don't know how they would feel about a gay son. It would be more difficult for Draco as his family seems very traditional

And that's right Sam, Dumbledore is the only LGBT character, and it is not even said in the books.

Clarke Daniels | 5 comments Oh yeah Albus and Scorpius are extremely gay for each other. It felt a lot like queer baiting to me though tbh. I wish they would actually put in some representation for once.

Before reading TCC I would have said that Draco might have a problem with having a gay son/no heir to the Malfoy line but after reading about their relationship (which was by far my favorite part of the book) I don't think he would have much of a problem with it.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, I think that his character has changed for the better and he would be able to accept it!

Andrea Frausto (dray3) | 9 comments Their friendship did border on being more but I like the idea of Scorpius having a crush on Rose. Draco hated Hermione so his son liking her daughter is like the ultimate karma.

I agree with Carlos. I didn't like Rose at all! I don't hate her like i do Umbridge, but I strongly dislike her.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

I think that Draco liked Hermione! J.K Rowling confirmed it I think. I don't know how so many people hate Rose :(

Liam Albus and Scorpius are NOT gay....... gosh. Seriously. (Siriusly?) Scorpius had a crush on Rose. That is obvious. And Albus did actually like Delphi (Weird), so they're either bisexual or straight. And I don't think there's anything there. Honestly....... really?

Not everything has to have LGBTQIA characters you know. I don't think it would be common in the wizarding world anyway since I think it's very old-fashioned and people just aren't gay in such a society.

Bogdan Teodorescu You know, I don't really think Albus and Scorpius have feelings for each other. I just think it's friendship. A very true and amazing friendship. You know, JKR stuff. I just like them both :)))
